Just returned from a camping trip with no phone or TV service. What a glorious weekend it was until I returned and watched the DVR'd game against San Jose St.
This was close to The Citadel bad.
RIP JFB!

Chad would have been fired on the 50 last night.

Or maybe after the 4th floating interception.

Fitz Hill on the post game last night recalled the Citadel game, he was on the staff.
He said the whole coaching staff was called into the locker room the next day and Frank made grown men cry and told them he had fired Crow.
He said Frank simply would not tolerate losing and if he were in the building after a loss, everyone felt it and was very uncomfortable.
He also said that Frank was smart enough to know how many much losing could infect the entire program and not pulling the trigger on an coach could have an even more devastating effect on the team by prolonged exposure to losing.
Hill did not out and out say Morris needed to be fired because he said he doesn't lobby for a coach to be fired because he had been fired before, but he also basically said Frank would have never let it get this far to begin with. Someone else chimed in and said there's also no way anyone would have received an extension after beating a 6-6 Texas team in the Texas bowl.
Frank would have never hired a 14-22 HC but the GOBN had their way and this is why we can't have nice things.

Agreed, but I'm willing to bet that the percentage of the budget is much higher than in 1990
Plus I don't believe that we were paying Hatfield anymore

And Frank didn't drop the huge $$$$ to build the Empty NEZ.
Thank God for DVH.

Less, tv money was basically non-existent back then and tickets were like $15.00.

To draw an analogy to "smoke'm if you gottem, we spend it when it's not necessary. I'd shut down the FREE FOOD until midnight building quicker than you can say, "left lane and hammer down"

Frank would have pitched a fit after that loss. Mostly because he likely had run off a high caliber coach a season or two before hand.
The man did wonders in building Arkansas athletics and he saved us from being screwed when the SWC was about to go under but Frank Broyles had a nasty tendency to run off good people as quickly as bad ones.
The only reason McDonnell lasted as long as he did was that Broyles didn't really care about track. Frank built him world class facilities and then left him alone to run his little track empire and both sides were happy as can be.
Now, all that having been said, yeah, Broyles would have dropped the hammer on Chad. He might not have fired Morris but he would have eviscerated him and the coaching staff.
