It’s just mind boggling what’s been done with in state talent. As much as we all despised Nutt, he would build his OL around big Arkansas kids and pick up what skill players were available.
If you take 10 or so top Arkansas players and recruit the Tulsa metro, you can have a very solid class. I’ve never understood it the past 10+ years.

If Silverfield has prior relationships with these in-state guys based on recruiting them to Memphis then someone needs to speak up because Hunter hasn't.
If his qualification is ability to recruit this state and surrounding areas, that is a selling point, an easy one to tout following a guy I Pittman that did neither of the things he was sold as being able to do, recruit and coach the oline.
Silverfield himself brings nothing in the way of an offensive system or defensive system that people know him for.
Hunter again proves how bad he is at the job he's paid to do.

So I’ve bitched and moaned about the Silverfield hire all day….but apparently he has better connections or respect from a large number of the high school coaches. I didn’t know it was that bad till talking with a coach a few months back. Said Pittman and Morris didn’t seem to give a shite about in state talent.
Kids are begging to play for the Hogs….but it’s not so much about the record as it is they aren’t really recruiting them. Which makes sense given our records lately. We have no culture or pride within the program. In state talent is prettt critical especially when SHTF.
Winning 6 games here isn’t difficult.
-Don’t let all the in state kids leave
- Build some culture/ pride from within
- Don’t turn the ball over and quit racking up 100+ yards in penalties
The above is the difference between our 2 wins vs 8+ this year. And that’s with the worst Defense I’ve ever seen on the field.

Good post. This really sums it up. He doesn’t have a f’ing clue what he’s doing and it becomes more obvious everytime he opens his mouth. I don’t think he could sell free water in a desert.

Was listening to a Brey Cook interview. He worked as a GA for RS. He said one thing Ryan is good at is smoozing donors. He’s the reason Fed Ex started pumping money into football
