We did throwback uni's in football, why not play in barnhill?

Spinoff from the thread on the rant started by a rebel.
We could start playing one conference game a year in barnhill. Might even pull out throwback uni's when we do. Playing Kentucky or one of the decent SEC west schools in a rocking barnhill would be worth a jacked up ticket price IMO
Side note wonder if we do throwback '94 uni's this year for the 20 year anniversary of our '94 natty

Long has been asked about it before on twitter and he said Barnhill is no longer configured for basketball. I know the took the goals down years ago but I'm assuming it's more than just that change.

Wish they'd at least play one game there before they tear the 'ol girl down

The goals were taken down and the floor is no longer able to hold a basketball court the way everything has been configured.

It would hold a basketball court, the ends would be tight though.

The ends were tight before the changes.
Having played in both, Barnhill's luster has increased as memories have faded...

It's a complete shithole. It's good for gymnastics and volleyball. I'd like to see it used for more multi purpose stuff like MMA events, concerts, etc.
NWA really needs a mid sized multi use event arena badly.

They use to have concerts in Barnhill, "big" national acts a few times a year.
In the master plan, the entry way to BWA will be renovated to allow this. You will probably hear the money grubbing Long start up the fund me drums after the practice facility is completed.
The reason why the atmosphere in Barnhill was up there, or as Dickie V proclaimed it to be during the MayDay era, more intimidating than Cameron Indoor was for the same reason, the student section lined the length of the court for the first rows.
That was changed when it went to BWA for the same reason BWA was built, people would pay to watch the games and pay big to be able to do it frequently. Student tickets do not pay this, Arkansas students do not pay an "athletic fee" like almost every other school because of this, etc.
