Notre Dame knew they weren't going to the Cotton Bowl to play us

Was that the season we lost to Troy Aikman and UCLA in the Cotton Bowl or the year we lost to Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl?

I can't remember. We had a damn good team though. Grovey, Foster, Rouse, Childress, Wayne Martin, Atwater, and Kendall Trainor. I'm sure we had a few ithe good players on that team, but that's all I can remember.

UCLA

terrible performance

we were heartbroken after the Miami loss and played awful

similar to how we played at Miss State after Sternover, 10 years later

I think the only points we got that game was from the foot of Trainor, too.

Let's not forget we could have easily been back to back champs in hoops but they just didn't have the same fight in them. Except for Beck. I'll never forget him getting emotional at the end. That guy left everything he had on the court. One of my favorite players of any sport of all time. If I had to draft a team and needed a leader he would be my 1st choice.
