Here, well, we are at the bottom. The more I think on Fickell the more I think it would be a good hire.

I looked at Fickell’s recruiting classes. Looks like 75-85 percent Ohio and Illinois, with a couple from Michigan, a couple from Florida. If he’s the guy, I hope he has some recruiters with him, who can make some inroads here.

Maybe he'd be willing to keep Lunney on staff. Probably not him though for that exact reason.

Lane Train all the way? Someone said he has the best recruiter in the nation on staff and maybe bringing Pittman too? That'd be nice.

This is why everyone is skiddish on Fickell. He sounds so much like Bert 2.0.

The league has eaten 2 outside coaches alive and the last guy form the Midwest had no idea how hard the west was and it took him years to adapt and by then he had a fat extension and got lazy.

Not saying Fickell will be lazy, probably anything but that, but he's a G5 guy and you have Kiffin out there who's seen it all and knows everyone.

frick fickell. He is bert 2.0, and I will start a clay travis fricking revolt if we hire him.

If it isn't kiffin, norvell, campbell then I will be furious.

Don't use the words "Kiffin" and "stability" in the same paragraph.

The thing about Kiffin is you could never trust him, and he'd always been two weeks from heading out the door to somewhere else.

I disagree. USC was his dream job. Hard to fault him for taking the exact job he wanted.

Just put non-compete for the rest of the SEC. If someone big enough can lure Jim away after that it's because he absolutely killed it here.

I think the guy has had his ego checked. Now he wants redemption.

Not stumping for Kiffin, however the way you manage th threat of running out after a season or two is with the contract. Structure it so if another team wants to hire him or he leaves on his own accord (i.e. quits) then $10+mill buyout or 2/3 rds of what he has been paid for the first four years whichever is larger. But if fired by UA, his buyout is $5-7mill. Make hard for him to leave on his own for the first 4-5 years, but levelize after that.
