Lol, he's got quite the cult following over there. They're all doing back flips and begging him not to troll them.

Sounds like he's been right on before.

I 100% understand the climate is tough. I am not scared. A change is needed. I don't think we will pursue the same candidates unless it comes down to norvell.

He has been in arkansas before. His wife is from fort Smith. I think we have home town advantage. With far less expectations and his recruiting areas are the same.

Not directed at you specifically, but the belief that this weekend’s events somehow buy Bert another year is little more than fan myopia.

I get that Feral, but I've been of the belief along with Rev that Bert gets year 6.

This weekend events had nothing to do with Bert getting year six.

This has been a six year plan since Bert was hired.

He'll fire some assistants just like lame duck coaches do, cry about all the attrition.

Only way Bert packs his bags is if he resigns and cuts a $$ deal with the U of A.

I just think there should be a thought process, sorry. Others have correctly mentioned that there will always be competition, but the previous 2 years are no comparison to this year.

So far, we have Tennessee, Florida, Ole Miss, UCLA, Nebraska, Kansas, and Arkansas.

LSU and Auburn are possibilities also.

I'm just thinking it wouldn't be too hard to come out on the shite end of the stick this year.

My thoughts exactly.

Look Baws, the candidates these schools pursue will not even be the same candidates Arkansas pursues.

Texas A&M will be the only real player in our coaching search. Let's hope they keep Sumlin around. And if they don't, that's okay too, because there are several good ones to choose from.

Bielema will be fired and we will be happy with whomever we hire to replace him. Except for the segment of our fanbase that is never happy about anything. They'll continue to bitch and moan because they lead miserable lives.

I could be wrong, but I don't think this is true at all.

It was a five year plan. He got an extension for year six, but it's obvious that was a mistake.

The extension came later, baw.
It wasn't six from the begining. And again, the year six idea has been abandoned.

I talked to my guy just now, and while theres nothing really new he did say that (all his opinion) 6-6 and we probably see CBB get another year, although with staff changes and a very short leash. People also seem to forget that it's possible we end 7-5 and in that instance he absolutely gets 1 more. These last 4 are certainly winnable, although highly unlikely to sweep unless the OM game was one of CBB's special turning points.

The UF deal is creating a huge commotion up there amongst the power brokers, not sure if there's reasons other than the obvious but he's received at least 10 texts/calls from his buddies about it. He thinks UT's hand has been forced and theyll be the next domino to fall. He thinks Sumlin is safe right now, and heard OM could likely stick with Luke if they remain competitive.

He too wasn't sure how/if this could impact our decision making but doesnt think it will ultimately be a reason they don't make a move; UF targets shouldn't be too "aligned" with what we're looking for/at.

TL;DR -

It wasn't. Not even close. The LSU shutout was a turning point. Ole Miss is a mess and was without their starting QB.

Not only did Arkansas have to come back from a 31-7 deficit, but without that fortuitous scoop and score, they wouldn't have won the game at all. I'm happy for the players to get a win, but they received a gift from a team they should have blown off the field.

They'll win this week, but that may well be the last win of the year. Next best bet for a win is Missouri at the end of the year, but that could easily be a loss too.

Bielema is gone.

Who would want to join a staff where the HC's seat is on fire and it's win now or get fired? We're an SEC job that pays good money yes, but I can't imagine we'd be an attractive spot for assistant coaches.

Also, do you think he gets let go for 5-7 and we make a bowl game due to APR?
