Being down 21-0 in the 4th, at home, in a game that you had two weeks to prepare for isn't a great look.

Neither is losing 17 straight SEC games but yes let’s continue to think our program is too good for Gus.

The BEST case for Arkansas was Auburn winning.

The WORST case for Arkansas was Auburn being blown out.

Anything that makes it less likely for Auburn to retain Gus is bad for Arkansas because our boosters are some dumb motherfrickers when it comes to most things.

Arkansas isn't too good for Gus, they are able to hire a better HC with more potential than Gus.

Gus is the equivalent of OM's hiring of Houston Nutt.

Laugh all you want, but its true.

No one else in the SEC would want Gus including the majority of Auburn fans/boosters.

They cannot afford to fire Gus and would waive his end of the buyout to leave to Arkansas.

None of this sounds like anything else than a coach past his prime who they are eager to get rid of.

Good coaches aren't wanted to be lost by the school's fanbase they are at. Nutt, Bert, Chad, Gus all share in common a fanbase not sorry to see them go.

If his name wasn’t Gus Malzahn and you looked at just his resume you would think he’s a great hire. Your judgement is clouded by personal bias.

Your love of Gus is weird as frick. He averages roughly 4 losses per year at ridiculously talent rich Auburn. He's supposed to be an offensive genius, yet his offense sucks without a stud qb, and NFL scouts make fun of his terrible offense.

He averages 7-8 wins a year with top 10 recruiting classes while having a 2-6 record against his biggest rivals.

All the while his wins are a result of his defense due to his refusal to recruit a QB that makes his pre WWII era offense work.

That isn't personal bias, that is the facts.

There it is. Can’t have an opinion without being accused of being a Gus hugger. Sorry my opinion differs from the herd but the sooner you realize our program is literal dogshit the sooner you’ll acknowledge that we could a lot worse than hiring a coach that’s won 60% of SEC games including an SEC title and a NC appearance. At worst he would make us respectable again, we aren’t going from the toilet to the mountain top any time soon.

He’s averaged 8.8 wins a year and had a 7 win season once, the lowest total he’s ever had. So yeah, get your facts straight.

There are several coaches that would make us respectable again... That don't cost $7M a season.

Uhhhh!! Dude....

I gave my reasons in another thread, although I am genuine in my absolute dislike of him.

The reasons were well thought out and full of thought. So, the same goes for me. "Cant have an opinion without being accused of being a Gus hater"

Recruiting here vs. Auburn... NO DICE
Relying on his Defense to win as an "offensive genius.. NO DICE
Lack of innovating his offense in the SEC that has overcome his scheme for the most part, NO DICE
would absolute split the fan base more than ever, NO DICE
Would be extremely difficult to get rid of as well...
Absolutely stubborn to a fault.

and yes, I DONT LIKE HIM

Houston Nutt had recruiting classes that ranked in the 20's. Gus Malzahn has recruiting classes that average top 10.

Here is a year by year comparison of their losses per season, Arkansas and Auburn.

Year 1. Nutt: 3 Malzahn: 2
Year 2. Nutt: 4 Malzahn: 5
Year 3. Nutt: 6 Malzahn: 6
Year 4. Nutt: 4 Malzahn: 4
Year 5. Nutt: 5 Malzahn: 4
Year 6. Nutt: 4 Malzahn: 5

Nutt's total losses after 6 years: 26

Malzahn's total losses after 6 years: 26

Right because the SEC was as strong during Nutt’s years as during Gus’ at Auburn. Sure guy.

Thanks for reminding me Gus was a good recruiter though. Forgot how well he’s done that.

You forgot to mention his Texas ties and how he would recruit Texas, you know the stuff that really matters.

Because the top Texas recruits are good for 6-7 wins in the SEC or the Big12.

We've seen what the not top Texas recruits are good for in the SEC, but there are are those who still can't figure it out.

He was on the Morris train well after it derailed, because you know Texas.
