This has never happened to me. I was stuck somewhere in Kansas on a business trip and I saw a news anchor refer to the Arkansas river as the Ar-Kansas river once. I remember thinking it was kind of retarded. Like saying Lousy-anna.

Well, I do say "Lousy-anna" to "Lousy-anians" when they refer to Arkansas as "Ar-Kansas."

Pretty much everything about this post is incorrect, but if it shuts the person up then by all means.
Sure shuts 'em up. Love it when I lived in Oklahoma. They hated being told how we got rid of all the parts of the Arkansas Territory we didn't want or need that later became Oklahoma.
And it's definitely true about the ignorant Kansans mis-pronouncing the rest of our name after cutting off the best two letters.
And the European spelling of Illinois is similar. Same type of response is given up there when people pronounce the 'S' on the end.

It's never happened to me either. I sport my gear all over the place here (Kansas City), and no one has ever said anything bad about Arkansas around me.
Then again, I'm 6'3", and weigh about 240 (a domesticated 240) - everyone I work with loves Arkansas

I had no idea there were that many of us in BR area. I see hog stickers on a few trucks and cars here and there but not regularly. As for the OP, many bastards here in BR love to do that once I tell them I'm a Razorback. I try to remind them what happened last time Miles popped off with that BS. D-Mac gave him a lesson on the proper pronunciation.

I've met so many people here who have some form of ties to the Hogs or Fayetteville
