Completely agree. I don't care where they come from so long as they are qualified.

from the article by tom murphy in the ark dem gazette

sounds like someone is pulling for tim or someone like him to get the job... who the frick cares if they have razorback exp if there's a better coach available? better coach = better coach no matter how you look at it

not that there's anything wrong with tim, would be glad to keep him. but if we can get a better coach and recruiter that doesn't have arky exp, by all means get the fricker and wish tim or the like well

/rant

Pretty much, there is a portion who think that Tim is owed the job, because well, he did his job for 2 weeks in between Nutt-Petrino back in 2007 that is all that is required for one to have a life time contract paying several hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

There is also people who think the staff should contain a former player/staff member on staff so let me give you the candidate list:

See anyone on the list you can't live without?

Me either.

Now I'm not against having a former player on staff, there is two GA spots available that haven't been filled. Maybe there is a former player who is interested in getting into coaching that CBB would be interested in hiring, this is a complete shot in the dark:

Cool. So now we just need a TE coach, right?

Correct. Figure it will be Bostad or Horton.

Associate head coach, technically all the staff members are assistant head coaches, but yes Taver took a demotion and allegedly turned down DC roles at 3 other schools to stay here...

I'm skeptical about Bostad. It would be thoroughly badass to get him but has he ever actually be JUST a tight ends coach? From what I've read, he's been an offensive coordinator or offensive line coach and has had tight ends coaching duties lumped into his other duties.

Would he really come here just to coach that position alone? Do we have any other trumped up titles (like associate head corch) to give him so he can pad his resume?

Meh, just ready for the staff to be filled.

Was told today that Tim has been doing the UofA a favor coaching RBs the past 6 years as he is really a TE coach.

He coached RB/TEs one year at App state the rest of the time has been split between WR/RB.

I know horton is doing us a favor but shouldn't we help him out by not limiting his career any further. Lets let him use all his coaching connections to move up the ranks somewhere so he can come back here and be the top hog. I just hate that we'd limit his coaching career, the man deserves to succeed.
