What an atrocious sequence of calls behind the plate I don’t mind losing but the ump behind the plate did us no favors at the end even the announcers are seeing it he’s all of a sudden giving them 6 inches outside

I fricking hate that sac bunt call. HATE. Play small ball 1990 baseball instead of staying aggressive.
Gregory was 2/3 with a HR Double and a walk or two. Good on him to almost beat it out and execute but he's swinging away for me. Not giving up an out with a hot hitter up and cold pitcher.

Not really. Moved over the runners and had 2 guys coming up who had been sending long fly balls all weekend.
Can’t blame DVH when the two batters behind the sac bunt didn’t move them over. One fly ball and we are heading to extras.

The fact we're 30-6 with this pitching staff and the ERA's they have is something. This game was on the pitching and fielding - weren't sharp today and behind in the count once again almost all day.
Jaxon danced with fire in the eighth but his zero in the 8th and 9th were the only ones since the 2nd inning.
Dave postgame talked about how Zeb wasn't on the active roster with arm soreness and how with the upcoming @ SC series being Thurs-Sat do they really want to pitch Wicklander on 4 days rest.
Also mentioned Noland could be back this weekend in some capacity whether it be 2 innings or a hitter.
edit: All in all Hogs are 11-4 in the league at the halfway mark and any coach would take that at this stage with where we played on the road so far.

Actually Wiggins ERA was 6.10 at the start of today but he got it down to 5.11 with those 2 scoreless innings.

Team ERA also dropped this weekend, which is a good thing.
I bet we don't see Zeb for another week or so. Hopefully Noland can come back and contribute. Wicklander has been nails the last 3-4 weeks. Lockhart's last two starts are a bit concerning. He just isn't locating well after about 35 or so pitches. We need to be getting 5 innings out of him again. I am encouraged by Pallette though. He did hit a wall yesterday, but he was pretty damn solid. Hopefully he can build on that.
I think we are setting up pretty good getting closer to the post season. IF Noland can contribute, we have quite a few guys with big game starts under their belts.

The good thing is it doesn’t matter how we get there. IF we have a lead in the 8th inning and kopps comes out I like our chances vs anyone in the country

Weird melt, this isn't a place for that kind of discussion. Not everyone has to pump sunshine on every little thing. It was dumb, it backfired. Is what it is.
Even Eklund on the broadcast said "I think you let him work the count", Werner had thrown 8 straight balls to open the 9th and Gregory was his last batter and we gave him up. That is why it was dumb. Giving him a free out after 8 straight balls is soft shite, especially with a hot hitter seeing the ball well all day.
