Well... I missed a doozy in this thread apparently!
And, I agree somewhat with drew. The majority of this board realized that there had to be a change of leadership/old guard on the team with the mentality and lack of play. From flip flops and reggae to "Sit up straight and put your feet down"
We had players not even get out of their stance on the O Line, players give up half way through the play. The softness was apparent. And the attitude of the players on social media fighting with the fans, cursing a coach, seriously?
Yeah, it would have been wise for Boyd not to have stirred up the chit we have been seeing, especially when the coaching staff is using the TNA stuff to change mentality, and program PR. Dang, this isn't Rocket Surgery!

I agree.
I don't think Boyd has the lazy stank on him. I just think he made a poor choice to even get involved.
And to everyone screaming "2 and 10!", yeah when you have players doing exactly what Rev pointed out you're going to have a shitty season.
As far as the ban bet, how long of a ban?

Too be fair guys the real leader Scoota chimed in after them telling them to chill on that shite. Also told nikki she was better than to write an article about it.
It is possible all is not lost, and we have a few real leaders on a team.
But it is possible the whole team is tainted thing is also possible. Don't forget that florida has been dealing with the thug culture meyer installed there for years still.

Bert? Thug versus Uggg!

Dejon has bought in and rakeem was one of morris's guys. Its not just Bert's players being rustled I think the upperclassmen just would like a little respect from the new guys. They know they sucked last year they dont need all the new guys saying the new Arkansas like those who came before them were worthless

Ya they won those years, and at the end of meyer's tenure it was so bad he faked a heart attack.

That's exactly how I took it. I love the competition and mentality the freshman are bringing but I could easily see how the term "the new Arkansas" could be taken disrespectfully. As Scotta said tho it's just words man. Everyone's main focus is on getting better and winning next year. Exactly what it should be

I don't know if it has been discussed on here before, but i know for a fact that quite a few of Bert's upperclassmen banded together and went to the A.D. during fall practice to bitch about Morriss and his coaching style and methods. They were roundly told, get with the program or get gone. The ones who weren't gone before last season are gone now. It has been made clear, buy in, do the work, or beat feet. I say Amen to that!

I haven't seen this anywhere else. would be curious how you know this happened, but either way i wouldn't be suprised, and I am glad they are gone.

A very good friend of min'e son is on the team is how I know. Can't say who, but he told me firsthand. Also said there was a big divide in the locker room among the uppers and the lowers. He says it is night and day now compared to what it was like when the season started.

Good info and thanks for sharing. Glad to hear the culture in the locker room is starting to stabilize. I imagine bringing in 29 new guys who are bought in to this staff will completely overrun any additional negativity from the holdovers.

Hah. Reminds me of the transition from Petrino to John L. I remember talking to a lot of the FHS players who were there during that time, and they were all pleased as punch with John L. and talking about how the atmosphere was so much better and how everyone was really enjoying themselves and they were really confident in how great the season was going to be...
Then the season started and all that those "good vibes" changed.
So player perception and attitude during coaching transitions doesn't really concern me as far as being a predictor of the end result on the field.
