It will still be the center of everything for the vast majority of the state.

The center of commerce, the center of government, the geographical center, equally convenient to the majority of the state, the media center, the transportation center (land, river, air and rail) and I'm sure there are others I'm not thinking of at the moment.

Fake Tyler Wilson ?@TeeDub8 14s

“@LSUfball: Tickets are available for Friday's game against Arkansas.” Does this mean we can't play games in Baton Rouge anymore either?

LOL. I don't believe anybody in their right mind would have expected a sell out for MSU given all the factors working against it.

Some folks don't realize how big hunting season is down here, the family that normally sits in front of me were all gone duck hunting (opening morning). Some folks were deer hunting I'm sure.
The folks that were duck hunting did sell/give their tickets to another family from Dumas that probably never get to go to games, so the seats weren't empty.

Due to the early start, our group of 4 from Memphis that usually attend couldn't come either. His business requires him to take care of a few things on Saturday mornings, and even when it's a 2:00 or so kickoff, they are usually not able to get to stadium until mid 1st quarter.
However, we gave those tickets away as well.

Early start, hunting, cold windy weather, nothing on the line except our only chance to win a conference game this year all contributed to only a 75% of capacity or so turnout. Given all the factors working against it, I thought it was pretty decent.

Every home game on the opening of the hunting seasons have had 60k+ including the homecoming against Easter Michigan a couple years ago which was as bad as an opponent as you could find.

Some folks don't realize how big football season is in NWA

Seriously though - I appreciate you guys defending Central Arkansas. I actually like the area, but the University of Arkansas Razorbacks should play (drum roll) at the University of Arkansas.

When Arkansas has bad teams, attendance will drop, no matter what year. I remember a couple of years when I was going to school in Fayetteville that it was hard to give tickets away for football games. ('72, '73, '74, and '76)

I remember the Crowe-Kines-Ford era...

All you have to do is look at this year, similar opponents between the two places, WMS could not hold the capacity needed for Fayetteville games, yet can not fill to capacity themselves...

That's nice. But while Little Rock news covers happenings all over the state, NWA/FSM news doesn't cover anything east of Russellville.

Little Rock isn't really even on the radar up here unless you are watching your kids play high school sports against them or you have family down there.

I've been to Dallas at least 20 times over the past 7-8 years. I've driven through LR once on my way to go duck hunting.

The state's center of population is almost to Russelville and continues to shift west...

I know what is on LR news, I'll give you an example.

NWA/FSM: Opening headline, tragedy strikes when a family dog falls down a well.

LR: There were 4 homicides today, police investigate a possible link.

For rent, yes, what I meant was there isn't daily reports of robberies, homicides, etc. on the news up here.

It is more common on the LR channels.
