Listening to Pittman postgame and I continue to be impressed

To his credit he's not doing the "wait till I get my players in here" whining that some coaches are doing.

Mind you, he has far more cause to do so than any other first year coach in the SEC I can think of this season. That we have played so well with so little depth is a testament to our coaching staff and our players.

We were picked by pretty much everyone to finish at the bottom of both the SEC West and the SEC. With a good shot of being the absolute worst P5 team. Instead we are a blown call away from having a winning record half way through the season and our other two losses have come to legit top 10 teams.

Agreed.

One of the biggest failures of Bielema and Morris moreso was the fact that for the most part they wrote off the players they inherited and tried to force their system (to the extent either had one).

Hell, Petrino nearly scratched his way to a bowl in year 1 by making the most of what little he was left by Nutt.

That plus his "I don't want to lose one guy in this room" sales pitch during his initial team meeting went a long way in the team buying in.

I haven't seen a team play with this much unwavering confidence since Petrino's last year. Even Bert's decent teams entered the game full of piss and vinegar but tucked their tails between their legs at the first sign of adversity.
