I didn't even read the thread but it's gotten to a point when I'm tired of even talking about Madden- I feel bad because I never have positive thoughts towards him at all. I almost feel sorry for him now- sorta maybe or something. The end of regulation was just total gross gag vomit.

The easiest fix on defense is to quit allowing them to switch on screens, but the next gripe will be the results of doing so.
I've actually thought the same, myself. Portis ends up having to guard PG's way too often. It's a great recipe to lose him to early foul trouble and allow until amounts of offensive rebounds.

Instead of bitching about it happening, give credit to the opposing teams who have been able to use this to tier advantage via the mismatches the create.
Why? How about expecting my million dollar + coach to make in game adjustments?

Look at the stat sheets, do some simple math, rotation starts to be come more clear.
I get it a few of the players are like lightening rods for the fanbase, I see this here, on other boards, and on social media, their one mistake in a game is remembered, their several other contributions are ignored or forgotten.
Rightfully so. What motive do Hog fans have for WANTING to be miserable? You think we're complaining about all of this stuff because we have some kind of agenda against coach? You're not the only person capable of drawing conclusions based on what we see during games.
What should I be looking for? I'm guessing Watkins' stats pale in comparison to Madden's, but he brings 2 things that Madden doesn't. Smart play and hard-nosed defense. Madden does more to disrupt the offense than he does to aid it, so any perceived benefit he offers over Watkins seems to be moot, IMO.

You mention screen, but fail to notice it doesn't matter how good or bad a screen is if the spacing is so poor it allows help off the screen with no back cuts to take advantage. You can coach that all you want, its a mental break down in the game, it doesn't always occur, but again people remember the negative after a loss more so than the positive plays which are forgotten.
There's a fundamental difference. You assume that they work on setting sound screens extensively in practice. I don't. I think the piss-poor execution (regardless of spacing, which is another issue) is indicative of a lack of practice/attention to detail.
And I'm not even focusing on any single plays. In fact, I've done the opposite. A turnover with 0:05 seconds left is no less important than a turnover with 19:55 left. We need better execution throughout games, offensively and defensively.

Our defense is a joke. Bottom line, and we get out rebounded by everybody during crucial times. Shitty coaching on both fronts

MA is a good coach guys. Not the best, but good none the less. and better than our previous couple of coaches. We are not going to win every game. We are going to have bad games, players, yada yada yada. Stop freaking out. We are getting better. Ky is just sloppy and makes bad decisions sometimes. Just like any other player, coach, or human.

The better teams all over the country that make deep tourny runs play well on the road. They at the very least don't just chalk up losses for the majority of them. You saying that the majority of the conference sucks on the road doesn't ease my worries about our program. I want to be as little like most of their basketball programs as possible since most of them are not good, consistent basketball teams. Is that so unreasonable to ask in year four? To not lose to bad teams who won't make the tourny in a half full arena?

Well in that case, there's only 8 or 16 teams out of all the teams in men's college basketball that will consistently play well on the road this year. The group of basketball programs that can reload and get back to the sweet 16 or elite 8 on a regular basis is even smaller.
I'm not saying Arkansas fans are unrealistic, but...

I'm a Chiefs fan. The similarities on offense between the Chiefs and the Razorbacks this year are freaky. I get to experience the pain on Saturday then experience the same pain again on Sunday.

Family's from NOLA, gramps was a fan through the tough times.
Story goes that he donated some money when the new stadium was being built, and in return, he got a square yard of turf, which was made into a lamp with a Saints helmet on it. Any idea if this is true, OG?
He died before I met him, so it's the one thing I'll get from my parents in the future to remember him by.

I started yelling at the screen with about a minute to play. Hubby looked at me and said "Relax. We're still up by 4 (or 6, whatever it was at the time)."
I don't think he's really been paying attention.
