Gus will never happen at Arkansas, and that has a lot to do with spurning us 2 years ago and his massive buyout; but it has more to do with his toxicity now.

He always had detractors (such as myself) but there was a portion of the GOBN that didn't care and wanted him anyway. After the debacle that was our coaching search even those supporters jumped ship, leaving only the most hardcore Springdale cronies in support.

He wouldn't do well here anyway, for the reasons BoarEd posted above.

We don't necessarily need to catch lightning in a bottle to resurrect the program, we just need a steady hand that can slowly build us up out of the ashes. Someone like a Bill Clark that is loyal and may start off fairly slow (like 3-4 wins) and gradually build a foundation.

We give a guy like that 5-6 years to get us back to 6-8 win seasons, pay him handsomely and support him, THEN go get our "lightning in a bottle."

OK. Noted. Let's see if I can get in a time machine and go back and fix it.
