re: If I told you before the season we would be 4-3 at this point with a chance at 7/8 wins

Okay. I'm not saying this to attack you but do you have confirmation for that? Are we sure its Pittman micromanaging the situation or is it just the natural flow of the game?

Absolutely no one would have confirmation of that.
No one will say anything to that if they want to be drafted/play or have another job as a coach.

But watching Kendall at Baylor, FAU and FSU. He didn’t call a game like he normally does. After watching Nutt jerk the reins from Malzahn, that’s what it looked like.

I’m sorry you swallow all the bullshite everyone has built Sam up to be. By all accounts, he is a great person, he is a great leader of men. He isn’t innovating new football schemes. If he wants to succeed he needs to let his coaches coach. And if he doesn’t like that Kendall is putting up points then fire him. Just don’t hamstring him so half the fan base hates him for putting up points, while they worship a DC who can’t keep points off the board.

Everyone is giving Odom the benefit of the doubt, don’t have the right personnel. But Briles has all his guys.

Maybe I’m wrong but in all the games I have seen Briles call, I have never seen one time that he ran draws up the middle 10-15 times in a row.

You can say they were giving it to us, but they quit, they stacked the box and by that time it was too late. Our OL is too beat up and depleted for all that.

Maybe Briles saw 90ish plays for the OL and thought this game we are just going to go real slow so they don’t have to move too quickly.

So basically this is your gut suspicion. Again. I am not attacking you on this one. But if you are laying all of this at the doorstep of Sam Pittman it behooves you to have more than a gut feeling that Pittman is tanking this team all by himself.

I'm just saying slow your roll a bit. Maybe it is Pittman and Briles is a, to borrow a line from Wiley E. Coyote, "Soooper Genius!" Or maybe its what I suspect to be the truth... which is that Briles can get stuck in a rut and really want to establish that run game because our offense goes off that run. With good reason.

I love KJ Jefferson and he will make some great plays but he is not a polished QB yet and his decision making on reads and when to take off needs work. Again... not a surprise for a guy who is basically an upperclass freshman starter. Taking off as much pressure as you can by establishing the run game, with our small horde of running backs, is not a bad game plan. Briles is a smart, though occasionally to cutesy, play caller.

Also its not like Auburn is a Conference USA bottom dweller this year. Their two losses are to a 5-1 Penn State team and the so far unstoppable juggernaut that is Georgia. They might just be pretty darn good this year.

I believe we have to play fast, the game is still too quick for KJ, taking away his ability to think (2m drill) has been his best work. If he is able to slow down everything mentally and hit intermediate passes without throwing it to Vanover, he will be a great player even at the next level.

2m has been everyone’s best work.

this is something a lot of people seem to be overlooking as well. We’ve lost to the #1,12 and 19th ranked teams in the country who’s combined win loss record is 17-3. We played 3 really good teams and came up short it happens

I’m not even mad, I would like the Briles slander to stop.

I think take away our fumbles and bad ref calls, we are still a 1 loss team.

Coming off the Morris and Bert years, I am practically elated.
