If he would have won the Missouri and Virginia Tech games in year four that would have been 9-4. A one win improvement from the last two years. His stay would be extended but I doubt he would go 10-3 in 17 because he was beginning to decline.

Thank god he didn't. We would still be stuck with him, Jeff Long and Mike Anderson. Bert crashing and burning was the best thing that happened to our program in decades.

Those losses led to a funk and the 2017 season was the beginning of the end.

I believe had Bert won those games then next year would be a decent season but it would only delay the inevitable.
