This move to dismiss Jeff Long might be the dumbest move made by the university ever.
Or it may turn out to be just what we needed.
It’ll be interesting to find out what exactly prompted it.

Right now it looks pretty stupid.

The one time I turn on Finebaum (today) and he's saying both of them are gone, then stumbled and then pretty much said the end. Lol

They're both gone, there's really no hiding it anymore and it's quickly becoming common knowledge, also being reported by several reliable people that were previously on the fence. Only question remaining there is 'when' it happens, my guess is still after the last game and not when we lose to MSU like some believe.
The University almost needs to come out with the truth behind Long's transgressions and not let the "fired for convenience" narrative be the sole one that lingers. Not only does this look bad to a large portion of the fanbase that somewhat know what's going on, but those on the outside that really have no idea will think it's borderline asinine.
I just don't know what to believe at this point. I do know that he wasn't "refusing to fire Bielema" because that snowball was already rolling downhill fast with Long still at the helm.

All I will say about this Long situation is that the stadium expansion deliberations was a northern boy getting way out over his skis with our BOT.
It took some time, but Long lost that battle.
What’s that saying? Give them enough rope and they’ll hang themselves.

Trying to be unbiased I can't think of ONE POSITIVE THING Long has done at Arkansas that couldn't be accomplished by any Joe Blo with rudimentary management and business sense.
Profitability? Broyles took care of that for us.
Stadium? Would have happened in some form of fashion anyway (keeping up with the Jones)
Mike Anderson? Any AD could have brought Mike back by just recognizing the obvious tie-ins.
_________
None of that weak crap outweighs the Bert buyout, attempts with Grobe and Bowden... Petrino firing, the commercialization of game day, etc.
For YEARS people have conveniently forgotten Pitt said 'Good Riddance' to this loser... we embraced with open arms.
He can DIAF.
