Is this a fact? Never heard that before
Yes, it is something that is brought up almost every year when projecting teams that actually have a chance of winning the NC for the upcoming year.

So a top 10 class by one of the services within 3 years of winning the NC? Is that the parameter?

Yes. This is 100% fact. The fact that you have never fricking heard of this only shows how shitty of a poster you are.
The only team who had a chance was that 2011 oregon team vs auburn. They lost. So they didn't buck the trend. Actually this was part of the national conversation back then. So this isnt new news. Its over 7 years old at the very least.

We could have had him. But we still have idiots making decisions around here.
The idiots are the ones that think we could have had him. You think he hadn't already been offered a good HC job or 7 by the time we were looking?
Dude's just happy where he is.

Some people don't want the stress that comes with being a HC. Maybe Venables changes his mind sometime but right now he looks pretty happy where he is.
