I mean, you can say that all you want but that 2008 Petrino team was 1 point away from losing to ULM at home(LR) and 4 points away from losing to Western Illinois at home to open the season.
They were lucky to win those two, otherwise that is a 3 win team that also blew second half lead at Kentucky. Needed a miracle to beat LSU, which would have put that team at two(2) wins with luck going the other way.
Ive said it multiple times on here...The only difference between Petrino's first team and Chad's first team is luck and Qb's who at least had some type of starting experience. Not to mention a pretty damned good OL(for Petrino).

It was a 5 win team that could have won more.
The narrow wins weren't celebrated the players weren't hugged and praised for their effort and improvement for blowing a second half lead like we've seen this year multiple times.

We are where we are. Not much we can do about it now. I knew this year would be bad. Say what you want but Bert did his successor no favors in the recruiting and development department.
If chad can hold this class together I think he will make a good run at Arkansas.

Because we were just two years removed from winning the SEC West. We’re much lower as a program than we were back then.
There are a ton of people not happy right now though, just take a look at Twitter any time the Razorback account posts anything.

I'm nowhere near wanting to fire him. The guy is recruiting at a high level.
We lack talent, speed, and effort on D. That is not his fault.
