Got my home grown split pea soup and ham hock going, will keep a couple of trout to pan sear, and then bake a fresh skillet of kern bread for the winter weather system that’s about to engulf our state for the next couple of days.

Gin or whiskey is the biggest concern. Gin normally goes with fish, whiskeys goes with everything. Bourbon goes great with ham and a frozen vodka goes with celery..

The issues I deal with daily, I don’t wish this on any of you folks.

Gin stands well on its own with a touch of vermouth and an olive.

I love a dirty martini but I prefer the vodka kind. Gin isn’t horrible, it just tastes like plant food if I had to guess what plant food tasted like.

It tastes like pine needles to me and I'm not crazy about pine needles. But you are right. Vodka martinis are better.

The high here is 68 tomorrow and 63 Sunday, TERRIBLE cold snap! I may have to sip my umbrella drinks in the sun room instead of by the waterside, I hate the winter.
