Does the Morris debacle pretty much guarantee that Bert doesn't get a major job?

In the foreseeable future?

I mean it's a pretty big sign that he left so little that a dude who took over a shitty school before, but got them to 5 wins in year 2. Couldnt improve past 2 wins in year two.
It is a condemnation on both of them. Both coaches are fricking trash.
A damn good coach would have won 10-11 games in 2015. I sometimes wonder if having Jwill would have won us a game or 2 more with bert. We had a real staff, and had a talented team, but bert managed 8 wins with a fricking bowl with a QB who will probably hang around the league long enough to get a pension (this is actually very, very rare)

It doesn't help that Chad is apparently mildly retarded. Chad

Pretty much says it all.
I could see Bert hanging around Belichick long enough to parlay it into another head coaching gig at a school more suitable for him. Lower level Big Ten school is about all he could hope for at this point, assuming he wants to get back into college.

Bert's waiting for Illinois to fire Lovie. May be 2 or 3 yrs, but it will Happen. Theyll be somehow convinced that he was just in a bad situation at Arkansas and has seen the light under Bill.
Honestly though I don't think he wants to go back to college because of recruiting. It's his obvious weak point and doesn't have to do it in the pros. Plus, he's going to be collecting his checks from us for years. Why stress out.

I think the fact that half our team doesn't currently have broken feet speaks volumes

He's hoping for an NFL assistant job is my guess. He's doing the Belichick Reform School now in hopes that will lead to him landing a job. Which, given time, it probably will.

The patriots defense is one of the best in the NFL. Bert will be a DC soon. There’s even talk of him getting NFL HC interviews.

Didn't he just get into a "philosophical difference" with his own player??
Bert would be Schiano 2.0 in the NFL. They wouldn't respect him in the least and when he did try to coach them they'd think he's a joke.
Bert has one trait that's above average, and that's finding underrated talent. Remember how his staff used to find guys and then they'd blow up to 4* types and get Bama/Auburn/Florida/Texas type offers. Problem is, he couldn't even get most of those guys across the finish line in college because he couldn't recruit.
Everything else he's subpar in. I don't think he miraculously learned how to manage clock and not run his mouth by 2 seasons in NE. He may have tried, but most guys are what they are. Hell, there are guys that spent decades with Belichick and were still massive failures as NFL head coaches.
