One of the worst strikeouts I've seen at this level in a while.
Yikes. Dude needs to cut that nasty shite off his face.
Fortunate error but $100 we strand him.

Don't mean to clog the game thread but can anyone explain why, since probably the Stanek days we've been so unbalanced with either pitching and hitting?
Just the way its worked out or has something changed in the landscape with the game?

Wouldn't take that from a fellow fan.
It's like clockwork with this 50% of the time.
The pitching and Tech's bats really worry me after leaving all these guys on.

A lot depends on who makes it to campus and how they develop.
The launch angle offensive philosophy has changed with this current group and trackman technology adapted by Wes Johnson with spin rate, velocity from Jorn.

McFarland strikes out swinging.

That’s going to continue and is part of the norm for pitchers with travel ball plus the need for more velocity and power.

Is there a reason this seems to have happened less over the last few years under DvH? Or maybe I'm wrong..

quote:I think you're expecting too much out of college pitchers or got spoiled from the years that we were putting up all-time great numbers on the mound during the dead bat years. Even in this season plagued by injuries we're still sitting at 5th in by far the toughest conference in team ERA. The difference between 5th and 2nd is 0.3. Before college killed the bats we were always a gorilla ball team first when we were having national success. Now that they've returned some of the pop to the offenses, we've shifted back more toward that style. DVH adjusted his recruiting very well by going after pitchers more heavily when the bats were dead and we played much more smallball. What we've seen is actually a return to the norm under DVH.
