Someone else needs to step up.

He's been unreliable to say the least anyway. Saturday was tough, although the grand slam really screwed up his outing.

Unless McKinney makes a comeback we might need to move Murphy to Saturday. We then could pitch by committee on Sunday. Maybe give Loseke the first shot seeing that he looked good starting this past Wednesday.

We have 7 midweek games left on the schedule. (at Memphis, 2 vs. ULM, Grambling, MO State, 2 vs. Texas Tech). Those will have to be handled by the freshmen. Bolden, Bonnnin, and Ramage could rotate the starts and relief could be handled by the rest (Lee, Kostyshock etc.)

Murphy is starting Saturday, since it is a Thurs-Sat series, so they can make that transition easily now if they want.

McKinney threw an extended bullpen today and is close to returning. Game 2 starter is between Rutledge and Bonnin.

Cole Turney is traveling in Campbell's spot, so he must be ready to make his debut.

I haven't taken time to watch the press conference but do you think that Loseke will be the midweek guy?

I really hope Turney makes the most of whatever chance he gets. I got to watch him during fall ball and pre-season scrimmages and he looked great. A ton of power. The few apperances he has had at the plate this season hasn't been good. He has only been at bat 7 times but he has failed to record a hit and struck out 6 of his appearances.

For this week or are you talking long term?

I've always thought that Rutledge might be more of a Zach Jackson reliever but it would be cool to see if he could give us 5 to 7 great innings as a starter. Bonnin has some stuff but he has also had control issues. We will get an early look to the future by starting either one.

Yeah, should be Loseke. DVH listed the 3 options to take Campbell's spot and he wasn't one of them.

Rutledge is a starter, and I know the plan was to work on his location issues and bring him along this year out of the pen, but I hope it's him this weekend.

Reindl is getting the Memphis start. DVH said it’s time for him to get going.

Reindl came up big last year in key moments. I thought both him and Cronin were going to be reliable arms out of the pen. Cronin has done his job but Reindl has not.

It would be awesome if we could get Reindl out of his funk.

Double, wild pitch, walk, passed ball put Memphis up 1-0.

2 strikeouts and groundout end the first 1-0.

Bonfield leading off reaches on an error but doesn’t leave first as McFarland, Fletcher and Koch go down in order.

1-0 to bottom 2nd

A single is all for Memphis in the second.

Reindl has given up 2 hits with 4 strikeouts, 1 walk in two innings.

1-0 after 2.
