Now they are asking for BOT members emails so they can let them know how they feel.
Why are they melting so bad over Morris? I understand wanting a splashy hire but he runs the system (no huddle, wide open) that everyone wants.
I'd rather have Norvell but Morris isn't that bad.
Is it because he is an Aggie?

They are fricking idiots. People want a guy that can recruit Texas but don’t want to hire one who is among the most respected coaches in Texas ever.

It baffles me what some of those guys are spewing over there. Freaking out over recruiting ranking s at SMU, the same SMU that shares a state with Texas, TCU, A&M, and is heavily recruited by OU and OK State. Well hell no he’s not going to beat those schools out for in state kids. Send him into a living room as an SEC coach, and those kids become easier to sign. If he’s the guy, screw it, I’m supporting him and I’ll still be at games. Offense will be exciting and fun to watch. That being said, I don’t believe at all that Chad Morris will be our coach next season.

I love the threats of pulling financial support from the fans who beg for discounts on the ticket board.

He took over an SMU that was totally in the crapper, absolutely abysmal. His recruiting is suspect in TX but against TT, Texas, TAMU, OK, TCU, OK State, etc... He has them at 7/5 this year I think...
Not greatly impressed, and not throwing a fit either.
Would rather have Norvell, Kiffen, and a few others first I think...

After Petrino was fired, a few of them threatened to not buy anymore Razorback merchandise at Walmart until they saw some change on The Hill.

My thoughts exactly.
Morris has a lot of the qualities we’re looking for in terms of recruiting and offensive philosophy, and his name was being prominently thrown around around earlier this season in coaching search discussions on here before they ended at a so-so 7-5.
I wouldn’t be upset at the hire, but I would be upset that we’d lost out on Norvell.

I am not all in on this Morris talk. I am going to get in touch with someone I know at SMU who is one of their biggest $$ boosters today and see what they say. As of a few days ago, none of them felt like anyone was going to go after him.
