Come back as a senior and get picked in the 9-10th round for $5,000 or sign for $125k as junior?

Easy

Think it more depends on how we end this year and how much Kacey's willing to bet on himself. If he could potentially be a day 1 or early day 2 guy next year it'd be worth it to come back. Not sure how he stacks up with next year's draft projections

Former Hog Lucas Krull was just drafted by the Giants in the 34th round.

Only reason I mention that is because I didn't realize he's also a 4* TE with offers from Kansas State and Florida now

Former Hog signee and San Jacinto JUCO player Alerick Soularie drafted by Cards in 29th.

He’s also signed with Vitello and Tennessee.

Not sure I understand how Plunkett goes before Bonfield

Catchers are valuable, teams can never have enough of them to catch pitchers.

Bonfield doesn’t have a position.

I guess that makes sense, just seems weird that a guy who never plays is taken and a career ~.300 SEC hitter isn’t.

Wonder if he regrets not signing out of high school.

We only had 1 payer drafted from our whole class or is PG not fully updated yet? They only list Beasley.

Bonfield is barely above .300 and hasn’t even hit for double digit homers as a DH. I really wish DVH would have given other players more opportunities over him at times.

Yeah his numbers are significantly down from last year too almost across the board, I hate him batting 4.

He has tailed off hard late in the year again like last year too.

Freshman
.177, 11 H, 11 R, 1 2B, 7 RBI, 12 TB, 16 BB, 18 SO

Sophomore
.304, 52 H, 29 R, 8 HR, 11 2B, 39 RBI, 87 TB, 26 BB, 41 SO

Junior
.294, 73 H, 41 R, 9 HR, 9 2B, 1 3B, 49 RBI, 111 TB, 30 BB, 44 SO

Senior
.299, 53 H, 35 R, 8 HR, 9 2B, 1 3B, 34 RBI, 88 TB, 39 BB, 35 SO

He’s fairly consistent but not enough tools. Working the pitcher for walks or taking pitches is what I’ll remember. I wonder how it would’ve went without the broken ankle fall ball of freshman year.

Ah yeah it was last year I was looking at that saw his OBP/SLG/OPS tank hard. Much better this year despite the late struggles again.

Crazy how heralded he was too as a prospect. Forgot just how high he was rated coming in, #57 prospect nationally on PG.

His path has been a pretty weird and tough one.

I looked back at past Arkansas baseball recruiting classes today and it’s pretty amazing the higher ranked players for the most part don’t last or end up where people projected but unheralded ones thrive.
