There's a saying that some teams may only have a 1% chance of getting a guy that they've offered, but they have a 0% chance of they never extend one.

Add this to all the stories just now surfacing of fatass standing up recruits that Pitman had in the bag and his drunkenness and stupidity on official visits with parents that ran others off... I honestly don't know how you couldn't have fired this idiot for cause....maybe that's why the Foundation was so pissed when he pulled the Patriots salary coup.

Arkansas never acted on it -- probably because Bret knew there would be no shot to land a kid like that -- but Burrow didn't just appear out of nowhere. He's had it since at least the 9th grade, lol.

Actually what, more than anything, landed us in this spot was three (four if you count poor John L. "Smile" Smith) bad recruiters.
Half of Bobby Petrino's last two classes never played a down for Arkansas. Bert started off strong and then fell off the face of the planet. Chad, it is increasingly clear, had his favorites and everyone else could hang.
One of Bert's favorite sayings was you recruit your own problems. Well you hire your own problems. We hired some problems.
No, we aren't a state that churns out 50 FBS players a year. We do, however, turn out enough quality players that with some disciplined recruiting (including out of state) we can absolutely win 8 or so games a year and be in contention for the SEC West every 4-5 years.

It's kind of ridiculous that he didn't at least get an offer, but let's be honest here, Burrow was an Ohio kid that went to play at Ohio State. It's true that there is a roughly 0% chance that, if offered, he would have come here.
As to the rest of Bielema's recruiting, I was under the impression he did OK by our standards. Evidenced by the number of kids Bielema sent to the NFL while here.
I can't wait until we have better things to talk about than this.
