Leadoff single erased on 6-4-3 double play, fielding error on SS then strikeout for Connor in the fourth.

6 strikeouts for Noland

I'm happy to admit to being wrong on Noland. The kid has great command and a nasty curve and slider.

That's why I was eager to get home for game 2...to see Noland pitch, see what the kid has.

He's looked like a very talented freshman. He has some things he needs to work on... but he looks like the real deal.

And Noland is out. A good showing for the youngster. He's a work in progress but it seems like a good work.

Ramage has looked a bit shaky. A lot of mistakes by Arkansas to extend this inning.

I really, really didn’t like the decision but Noland was up over 70 pitches and had a taxing inning.

Hogs get out of the fifth only giving up two runs.

Noland- 4 2/3 innings, 2 runs (0 earned), 4 hits, 7 strikeouts, 1 walk.

Right, it was the pitch count DVH wanted to see from him this game and no more then that. Ramage looked a bit off coming in but its the first series of the season, you will have that.

Ramage had a few difficult outings most recently which is why he isn’t starting too.

Glad he got the final out while still having the lead.

Nice double.

The stands aren't very full but given the weather that is not a surprise. Just miserable for a baseball game.
