I go to the gym 3 days a week. MWF.
I start off with cardio to get my heart rate up. 15 minutes. All 3 days. at least 1 hour for the whole work out
Monday- Legs. machines and barbell
Wednesday-Core and back.
Friday-Arms, shoulders, chest
I've got to get more cardio in though and shake up my diet. fricking hip fat is showing back up and my stomach is looking poochy.

Did a kettelbell workout this morning, man it winded me.

OK Piggy, I'll break down my routines in both my heavy interest period and light interest period.
When training, a typical week went like this.
Get up, quick shower, small coffee, do 5 minutes of calisthenics and light stretching.
Then I'd either do a 3 mile run around the neighborhood, then off to the gym for an hour to an hour and a half. I'd go grab an exercise ball and stretch my back and legs really good. I tried to lift 6 days a week, each body part got 2 days of specific lifting spread 3 days apart and I did daily push ups (200), sit ups (500), hindu squats (1000), curls , shoulder, and triceps presses with dumbbells at home. I'd also do timed wall squats, got to where I could do a minute + no problem but 2 minutes would give me a cramp in my hip.
When weather wasn't rainy or snowy I'd go sprint this hill by an old creepy church, it was about 60 yards long and straight up. First time I sprinted it was in August, 4x in a row and I might have given myself a heat stroke.
I followed a lot of what's in Arnold's Encyclopedia of Body Building for workouts.
Now when I've been less motivated and more consumed with work and school, I'd just do the push ups and sit ups and a lot less of the dumbbell work at home, and tried to play more sports. My little sport I've invented was an awesome cario workout, lots of running, sprinting, constant movement and reactions.
Intensity is the most important thing, get the heart rate up and sustain it, strengthen the cardiovascular system and you'll be able to go longer and harder to strengthen the rest of you.

I also left out the early morning power yoga I'd do a couple times a week. The old fricks of Harrison didn't know what to think while on their morning walks.

I've started learning to bench press. I'm fairly strong for a "girl" and that crap is a lot harder than I thought it would be.

Work 60 hrs a week, wife and 4 kids. I'm just trying to keep my head above water.

I would do my home workout stuff while I watched TV, commercial breaks were for 25 reps of push ups or sit ups. You can be like Ari on Entourage and blast through 7 minutes at your desk.
Now I just emotionally eat and dick around on TD.
Depending on how old the kids are I'd take em to the gym and have em lift w/ ya. Instill the habits of exercise and hard work while they're young and it just becomes part of life and not something to struggle to force yourself to do. I've been trying to find a way to take my niece and nephew, they're crazy into sports like me, and I don't see how building their frames up at 7 and 10 is a bad thing. There's college tuition on the line here.

I hear ya SLC. My day doesn't end when I leave the office (that I'm rarely in these days) and December is a heavy travel month for me. I'll be in Nashville, Baltimore, Penn, & Lubbock for stretches.Home just before christmas. I'll be going on runs and working out in the hotel gym as much as I can, but I always end up crazy fatigued. Just remember that SOMETHING is better than nothing, even if it's just a little bit!

Insanity is a great place to start. If you do it correctly (ie. you don't skip workouts) and push yourself a bit harder each time...you'll be in respectable cardiovascular shape at the end of month 2.
However, Insanity isn't going to yield the results that you may desire. More than likely you won't end up looking like the paid athletes who are featured on Insanity.
You need to tailor a serious diet plan that will feed your workout plan. I once had a personal trainer tell me that the dirty secret that every trainer knows but sometimes fail to tell their clients is that a proper diet is 80 percent of the reason you cut weight. Exercise is 20 percent of the equation.
Therefore, before you should begin a proper diet plan or consult a dietitian before you start intensely exercising or strength training.
