I can lose weight on low carb, no doubt. It's just not sustainable unless I live the rest of my life that way.
Which I may have to do.
Which I may have to do.

Yep. I've done it short term, but it's never been something I can maintain.
Joining a gym tonight. Have to get back on track. Maybe this will help.

Good luck Pigglez.
Eat more super foods such as kale, spinach, carrots, garlic, ginger, southern greens, green is good, smaller portions, eat more times in the waking hours, don't forget protein intake, cut out the sugary stuff and the pointless fats like salad dressings and condiments, and minimize your bread and starches because they become simple sugars.
Not even getting into gluten, pizza and burritos are too damn good to give up lol.
Make sure your intensity is high enough to make you sweat. Back when I cared about myself and such things I'd do my dumbbell and squat workouts in my bathroom where I'd run a hot shower for a few and light some candles to get the temp up to cause max sweating, then I'd relax in the tub of hot water I ran from the shower head. That's prob. not a wise thing to do though, and especially not for your hubby with his heart issues.

WTF did I just read here.

It was like lifting in a sauna wearing a weight cutting suit.

Oh I get it, the candles kinda threw me for a loop. Didn't know candles pumped out so much heat.
Guess the gym with a sauna and hot tub weren't available at the time?

I started that Insanity program again in the mornings, this time without my wife. I'll do it while she's showering.
I just need to stay consistent. My weakness is carbs and lack of consistency.

Thanks!
I know what I'm supposed to do, it's just a problem with doing it. Last year, I was a machine. This year? Ehhhhh...of course, it's a lot easier to fit in exercise when you're unemployed!
Hubs is joining the gym with me, so I'm hoping we can keep each other accountable.

100% this
it almost doesn't matter which workout program you do. choose one, commit to it, and as long as you're consistent it'll work.

That's huge challenge, I'm still at work and I know there is pizza when I get home.

That's the first thing that entered my mind when I mentioned cutting back on carbs...pizza. I love pizza. Hope you enjoyed it. Now I want one.

Alright gym rats...I need advice. Signed up for the gym and it opens next week.
How often do you work out?
How long?
Do you do strength and cardio in the same workout, or do you split into different days?
Machines, free weights, or both?
I'm sure more questions will come to me once I actually start going. Really excited about being able to swim some laps in the pool and beating the hubs at racquetball.
