Yesterday was rough for me. Allergies or a cold or something has me down. My energy was non existent yesterday during my w/o.

I have a friend coming with my Friday, so I have to be 100%. Can't let him make me look bad. must make HIM look bad

btw....hoginthesw is super competitive.

Chest.

An old college chum has been talking about running a Tough Mudder. Have any of you run one?

no, but I have thought about it. A friend of mine did the one in Vegas and he loved it.

yesterday was leg day for me. went to dinner and wore something that showed off my arms and back and i received two compliments from people on both. one from a stranger.

oh the little things.

I ran the one in Minnesota last May. Had a blast, would definitely do it again. I was in some of the best shape of my life training for that thing.

what kind of training did you do for it and for how long?

the mud run in dallas is in June...that's definitely not enough time for me I'm thinking.

Started month two yesterday - it's getting harder!

Workouts are going pretty well, but my eating is just OK. Staying away from processed food pretty well, just eating too many carbs.

I did work in the yard for two solid days last week, and wasn't really sore afterwards. This time last year I wouldn't have been able to move for two days after all that work!

We technically started training in February but we would only run twice a week and didn't run more than 4 miles. March and April is when we really picked it up. We pretty Mich did a modified half marathon training schedule ( a tough mudder is typically 10-12 miles, ours was 12) where we would run 3 times a week and lift 3 times a week. We would usually do a medium distance run on Tuesdays (4-5 miles by the end of our training), a long run on Thursdays (our longest was 9 miles I think) and a short fast run on Saturdays (2-3 miles). We tried to incorporate a lot of hills in our runs because typically there are quite a few in Tough Mudders, I was living in Lawrence, KS at the time so finding a good hill was very easy.

I think we trained more than what was needed for the race. We were tired after the race but not overly exhausted like I thought we would be. Some of the obstacles required you to go one at a time so sometimes you would have to wait which gave you a little rest.

Here is the video of the one I ran:

Damn!

I definitely will need a long term plan for this.

Trained all 3 days already and all were killer. He stepped it up on me. I did two consecutive sessions of 250 bicycle crunches and 100 total push ups yesterday for example. FML. my arms back n shoulders are coming along tho do I can't bitch!

Headed to VEGAS today for a girls trip. I plan on eating bad and drinking whatever I want. : lol:

Down to 246lbs this morning. That's down 20lbs since Feb 4. Would love to lose 40 more lbs.

Started Feb 4, 2013 at 266lbs.

Weighed in at 236lbs this morning. Down 30lbs.

Need to lose 30 more, it's crawling off now. Still low carb and working out 3 days a week.
