he sure has a lot of double digit loss seasons and to me it seemed like he took the VaTech job to avoid being run off from Marquette.

Eh, the three years before that down year he had two S16's and an E8. I don't remember the whole situation around his departure when he left but he had build up quite a bit of credibility. Buzz isn't my first, second or even third choice but I like him as a coach. Would have been pleased if he was announced.

If we hire Dixon I’m investing in Memphis Tiger season tickets. It’s way easier to drive an hour to watch them anyways.

I also had someone say Billy Donovan but that would mean we would be waiting till May, not that I think he would come here anyway.

Dixon is hiring assistants at TCU right now. He’s not coming here

Not a fan of Dixon either.

For me it’s really Sampson, Marshall.

Being in OK a lot and listening to their sports talk...not sure Donovan would become available to even hire for anyone, much less us.

I don't think so either and he could probably just reach out to UCLA if he really wanted. Even in the world in which he expressed interest, would be too big of a risk imo to wait for the NBA season to be over.

Marshall would definitely take 4M. He’s expressed interest in our jobs for damn near 20 years lol

Yep, that would be the top two for me. I wonder how open Marshall really is this year. We know about the history of him being in "discussions" for so many years and nothing happening. He is still coaching in the NIT but I wonder if he would be negotiating anything while they were still playing.

I actually think that’s who the hire will be.

Days between games right now is extremely long. He has time to talk.

Most don't realize he already makes a lot of money. Kind of surprising that Wichita St is paying him 3.5M, smart on their part though.

Drove through Wichita not long ago. Not sure $3.5M would make me stay.

I’ve heard his name mentioned a lot, but I’ve heard it as well with the last 3-4 searches so I take it with a grain of salt. Would be a huge slam dunk hire.

For sure but some coaches just won't till the season is over. Wouldn't be disappointed one bit if he is named. Would actually be nice to see how well Hunter has pulled this off if that is the case.
