Ugh, that is not going to be helpful to our trolling
the rant efforts. I can see the Bert's so fat he didn't have room for a full class or the he's such a bad recruiter he couldn't even sign 20 flames.

Spurrier didn't have room for a full class recently.

As long as the guys staying 4/5 years are leaving with Degrees, it doesn't matter how many are needed to get to 85 each year.

One of the reasons Bert was sought by Long was his APR scores, while there has been an "OK" amount of guys graduating since Petrino, the attrition we all know about didn't just destroy our talent level, but destroyed the APR as well. There is so much room for error in football compared to basketball, you have to be a complete frick up to get a school in to APR trouble...

LaMichael Pettway commits to Ole Miss. Not a huge surprise he's going out of state. The staff wasn't extremely engaged in recruiting him. However, those who think we should keep every recruit in state might meltdown a bit.

Surprised he didn't go to Bama with his cousin there. But id imagine he isn't a take for them anymore.

I was reading a recruiting thread earlier where names were listed and "if Bert doesn't sign them, he will be looking for a job soon" type comments.

What was weird was these guys were fawning about rankings and stars, but the guy who is likely to commit as a TE is ranked above PineBluff's finest is being said to be a DE recruit by these same people because he isn't as good of a a TE as the lower ranked player.

It all reminds me of guys like Slick Shelly, Kodi Burns, the Warren players who went to Tennessee, Kheil Frazier, etc. It didn't matter those guys sucked and were huge busts, it was that they had high stars/rankings and wasn't signed by us so the HC must suck and meltdowns must occur.

No fricks given by me. There are at least 3 WRs in the state that are better than him.

While that may be true, we do need WR depth. We have a while until signing day. He will hear it from a lot of people down in Nashville.

We addressed depth issues last year when we signed 4 of them. We've already got Stewart and if we get either KJ Hill or Darveon Brown then that'll be more than enough. What we need are RBs and LBs.

We have good depth at RB, even if JWill leaves early, we would still have Collins, Marshall, Day, and a couple others, still need to sign 1 or 2 good ones.

LBs, Yes, huge need.

DBs, Yes, huge need.

WRs and QBs need to have the talent level risen, the numbers are there, but need better players.

It's not inconceivable than JWill, Collins and Marshall are all gone after 2015. Day hasn't done anything and Evans looked extremely meh in the spring game. We have okay depth this year but definitely not going forward. Especially for our offense.

Yeah we've got to sign at least one high level RB this year IMO.

Gragg. He's in constant contact with the three other top instate recruits that aren't committed. He isn't going to be a Hog and will most likely be going to Ole Miss. The last thing we need is him recruiting against us when that day comes.

Its definitely a problem for the staff and us as fans, but its also the job of the coaching staff to make our University more inviting than any other.

Winning and excitement gets recruits fired up about certain programs, our University lacks both. Hopefully that changes after this year.

So why did Petrino's recruiting classes get worse as the wins got higher?

Every year in every state there are kids who are dead set on going anywhere other than the home school. It isn't a staff problem, it isn't a school problem, many fans have a problem with it, it is just the way it is.
