If it's because of a grades thing, it wasn't us that put him in that position, and it didn't 'just' happen.
I don't think we'd yank a commitment this late if that wasn't the case.
ETA: I do hate to see the rug come out from under the kid though, regardless of who yanked it.

yep, I agree if he didn't get his grades or test scores right, that's 100% on the athlete. It's not like these guys just start getting recruited 1/2 way through their Sr. year like the old old days.
They typically have a full 3 years knowing they have a chance to earn a scholly and if they don't take care of business, I have no sympathy.
Jalen Cobb is a prime example of this, was getting looks as a HS freshman and never gave enough of a crap to do anything but thug and bug and was gone from Coffeyville in under a year.

Can anyone smarter than me explain why we only can sign 26 this year while Tennessee can sign the entire Negro College Fund Scholarship recipient list?
Weren't we under the 85 limit this season, wouldn't we have a few extra schollies to carryover? I was thinking we'd have room for 28-29 especially considering we lost 26 players to attrition and couldn't replace them with the handful of walk ons that earned scholarships.
I'm completely baffled by the disparity in the numbers.
