If you sit on the Razorback side while recruits are there, you're more than likely invited by Pat or coming with a group where one person knows him.
Most are regulars. They have everything planned out to a "T" on recruiting nights. From introductions of players, calling the Hogs, coaches coming in, etc.
I wouldn't really call it a hogville crowd. As I'm told, Pat may not be a big fan of that bunch on tardville. I think when all the stuff went down with Nutt is when he kind of separated himself from there. He does too much for the UofA to be tied to them like that.
If any of you have never been on a big recruiting night, I'd advise going at least once. It's quite entertaining and you will find yourself getting caught up in all the hoopla.

I love it, as Hog fans, we have to embrace this thing and milk it for all it's worth.
Yes, we have a very unhip fanbase, but if the fans were all EZ come EZ go hipsterish go places just to be scene douchnozzles then the experiences and atmospheres on campus would suck.
I don't want 30 mofo's coming by my tailgate to sell a mixtape of their shitty bedroom recordings.
I don't want a pro sports atmosphere.
I don't want to be judged by your PSL but by your enthusiasm for the game.
I don't want tens of thousands of front runners taking up parking and seats.
I don't want fans half invested.
Gimme the folks that have only the Razorbacks to look forward to in their lives, gimme the folks that will drive to far corner of the state to cheer on some punks that will never know their names and never understand the sacrifice they make to root on the Hogs.
Gimme the people that proudly wear Hog gear every time they go anywhere out of state. Gimme the people that reciprocate my fist bump when I see a fellow hog fan outside the state borders.
and gotdamnnit gimme some 4 and 5 star athletes to turn this shitshow around.

Nah you're right. If it were up to me, I wouldn't be doing all of that shite over there. Catfish Hole isn't even on my radar as a place to go eat. I've literally been there maybe 3 times in the 12 years of my life I've spent in Nam.

Catfish Hole wouldn't be my #1 place to take out-of-towners, but it would probably be in my top 3 if the guest was not a southerner. Catfish and hushpuppies are quintessential southern food.
As far as recruiting goes, I don't mind Catfish Hole as the destination for their dinner dining out. There is certainly better foodie-type food in town, but it's hard to beat the atmosphere that CH has cultivated. Like CtotheV said, it's not the hippest crowd, but it's rabid, and they'll never be too cool to make complete fools of themselves for the sake of wowing the recruits.
Take them to one of Fayetteville's top finer dining establishments, and you aren't going to give them that same experience. The food itself might be more impressive to the recruits, but who cares? Catfish Hole is about the atmosphere.
