I highly doubt he bought them. He seems to have actually made a connection with Anton and has done a good job of pitching him the Pressey role. What he did offering the four Team Thad players is similar to what happens in football these days. Offer the lower rated kids if it helps you get a leg up. We did it with Byran Jones and Alan Turner three years ago and Mitch Mustain and Andrew Norman 6 years ago. Its nothing new to football but basketball deals with smaller rosters so it sets off bells and whistles with the media.

Don't forget the fact that we also had to hire their high school coach as well

Good point. I still can't believe no one accused us of cheating there.

That's fine then man. I think if that kinda caveat or something like it had been in your original post I wouldn't have come back at you with the sarcasm. I tend to agree with your analysis, it's ironic too since Phil Pressey was a Mike Anderson recruit that the new staff's use of Phil is helping us in the recruitment of multiple other good point guard prospects. At any rate, living in Missouri like you do I'm sure you realize too that with all the Nevin Shapiro bullshite from the Haith stint at Miami, a lot of us are still a bit edgy and defensive when it comes to "buying players" types of recruiting rumors. We are just tired of hearing them by now, wish the NCAA would get off its arse and make a ruling already.

I imagine it would get old. In a similar scenario I really want us to hire Butch Davis but I don't think our Athletic Department has the stones to do it with the peripheral baggage he brings on top of the Petrino mess. It sucks because he is a great coach imo and would bring in that recruiting spark Arkansas needs. Unfortunately if he did sign great players here everyone would just assume he was cheating.

No and he still hasn't posted on any of the hog boards either. I was thinking about asking the admins if they could email him on his personal email to see if he answers so we at least know that he is alive.

Rockin'. So tell me straight up then, do you think based on whatever rumors or posts you are reading that Haith bought and paid for this player? And if not, why post it even as a "rumor that others are sure to tell you once you venture outside of just me" etc? If you're as cool and reasonable a poster as you strive to be (or want to try to contrast yourself from me as for whatever reason, whatever) then you gotta know that putting posts out there like that is exactly how internet rumors like that get legs in the first place. What good does it do your Mizzou friends and acquintances to have internet chatter that their hoops coach is buying players? And what reaction exactly should I as a Mizzou fan have? Rather than a flame, you might want to consider the view that me just posting some whimsical GIFs that by their very nature are not all that serious in tone is actually a lot more restrained and nicer a way of reacting to that insinuation about my team than some fans would. Think it over for a second from that angle, then maybe we are cool. I got no beef with you on my end, I can say that for sure. But the content of the post, whether its second hand rumor you are hearing or not, does not open the door, get on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur

Couple of updates from camp today. Nothing to in-depth.

LINK

I did like this quote however. Gragg is going to be an elite recruit. Good thing he is die hard Hog.

It’s early but it’s going to hard for anyone to beat out 2015 TE Will Gragg for camp MVP in my opinion. Gragg has speed, mobility and flexibility to go along with excellent hands to make the tough catches.  He has a chance to be a very special player.

Yep. Here is a picture of him from some ESPN High School event earlier this year.

Good tidbits. Chris needs to get his little brother some Nike Hog gear though.

Especially some of that new, sweetass charcoal stuff.

Rafe Peavey

In case anyone doesn't know who Peavey is, here's a link to his profile.

Big time commit this early in the game. This gives us two years now to focus all of our attention on Ty Storey which is a very good thing. If we can land him then we are going to be set at QB for a long time.

Definitely. I'm up there twice a month for work already so I think I'll just make it a Friday trip and tag along with one of my customers to the game so I'm not techincally stalking.

I might check out the jamboree at Central that they are playing in as well.
