Yall remember those 10 years when we had to play WR's at QB

Don't get me wrong, Matt Jones is one of my all time favorite Hogs but it still pisses me off to think that we had him at QB instead of WR and a future NFL QB riding the bench behind him who wasn't given the time of day.

He may not be Tom Brady but he has started a lot of games and was good at the college level after he transferred.

Ahhhh... I thought you were going to say Ryan Sorahan or something like that

No I agree, he would've been fine with a decent coach.

This kid was supposed to be the greatest QB in Arkansas history. I remember how much they pumped him up before he even took a snap. Poor kid.

RT is the best place to get free recruiting info. Taylor, Dalt, RF and a few others do a great job of keeping player profiles updated with info from a variety of sources.
That's where I usually hang out. Rafe Peavey (as of this morning) was all the way back on the 2nd page of recruiting forum. Threads move so fast it messes you up...

Is it bad that I've lived in Springfield my whole life and never even heard of this kid until just now?
Since when does Bolivar produce shite?
I will be very skeptical of this kid, mainly just because the teams/talent level for Bolivar and their opponents in Class 4 are piss poor.
He might literally face 2-3 Division 3 players at best, but mainly faces local 417 farmboys and what not that will never sniff a football field again.
Take it for what it's worth, but going from Bolivar to the SEC for this kid will be like Terrelle Pryor in the NFL last year.

Bolivar produced a 3* DB last year. A couple years ago Rafe's brother signed with and FCS school in the Southeast.
Of course these kids are the sons of SBU coaches some of which are former NFL players like Darnell Walker's dad and Peavy's dad.

Don't know, Ult. But somehow Ark, Nebraska, UCLA, Missouri, Mississippi, West Virginia, Boston College, South Florida and several others managed to hear of him and offer him. That's pretty much coast to coast...
Kid is just going to be a junior this year, may be why you haven't heard much.

Probably so, if he commits I'll have to make a game or 3 this year and scout him.
Still shocked Bolivar is producing a major D1 prospect QB.

SBU is one of my customers and I'm working on adding Bolivar School District so I'm thinking about making a day of visiting customers out in the area one Friday this fall and then checking out one of his games. From the guys I've talked to in the area, he is pretty damn good.

Yeah but my point is, pretty damn good vs who?
Reeds Spring? Springfield Central? Neosho? Hollister? Marshfield?
I mean the kid plays against just awful awful talent in this area, with the exception of Branson/Harrisonville being the only good teams they play and those 2 teams might produce 1-2 low level recruits every few years.
Going from that to the SEC, geez.
But, that is what coaching and development and redshirts are for.
ETA: So I facebooked the kid, and his cover photo is Razorback Stadium

It's not lilke DGB played against anybody worth a shite though either. Springfield area football as a whole is not good. It's not just limited to the small schools.

Well, given DGB's credentials and performance at the AA games, he was justified.
This kid is only a Soph, and hasn't been in any AA games yet, and might not ever. So all we have right and possibly at all, are HS tapes vs terrible opponents.
Now if he gets into a top level AA game like DGB and dominates, then it's justified.

I think you should chill out. I for one am estatic that these kids are wanting to be Razorbacks when we have no real foot to stand on in recruiting.
