A quick update on Korliss ... I just got a text from Osceola Coach Russell Leggett. They're in the process of setting up an official visit to Arkansas. Korliss hasn't committed to the Hogs just yet. He wants to talk to his mom before doing anything. - RT

I read that you said you were surprised by the school.

I was.

Why was that?

I think that being able to see the academic support staff that they had, that was probably the most surprising part of any visit that I’ve been on thus far. All of the people there had played a college sport, and were retained by this new staff. For that to happen, you’ve got to be doing something right. … There’s a reason those people are there. It’s the Southeastern Conference. There’s basically unlimited budgets and if (Bielema) wanted a new academic support staff, he would’ve gone out and got one. Obviously, that was something that he thought was in good enough shape to keep.

Info on Korliss Marshall
First let me say how proud I am of Korliss. He earned this offer.

He has not committed just yet but look for that to change very soon. Barry Lunney Jr. visited his school today and then put him on the phone with Bret Bielema, who told him he's got an offer and wants him up here this weekend. Korliss and his mom will be here on Friday, and he said when he told her about the offer it was the first time he'd ever seen her light up like that in his whole life. He said just seeing that from her gave him the best feeling in the world.

Korliss described himself as a versatile back who can play other positions besides running back if that doesn't work out for him.

Korliss ended our phone conversation by saying, "I just want to thank you for everything you've done for me." Said we never "gave up" on him in the rankings and kept calling even when things didn't look promising. I told him his turnaround on and off the field is probably my favorite story since I started doing this job, and it really is. Very happy for Korliss. He'll be one of your next commitments soon.

That is cool, just hope he doesn't end up like DeAnthony Curtis where we hear every week about how talented he is that you just "can't keep him off the field", yet he never sees the field....

I nearly welled up a bit reading that bit on KM. I can relate somewhat. My mom spent basically my entire freshman year at U. of A in LR in and out of the hospital battling cancer. Coming from her disadvantaged background she was very proud I was getting a chance to go to college.

I've been rooting for that kid for awhile because I know how much this opportunity can affect his entire family's lives.

I still think Coach Allen's kids should be walkons. He can easily afford the cheap employee tuition. C'mon Bobby give us 2 more scholly's to work with.

If a player earns a scholarship then he deserves a scholarship. The Allen boys are as worthy as anyone.

Evans will be the indicator on Collins and Tenpenny.

Marshall is being offered as an ATH.

I love coach B but he (and some of our fans on twitter) needs to learn the difference between a Buddha and smooth as "budda"...

And some douche, I think notclaytravis, is messing with one of our fans for "stalking". Wish I had an account, I would say, "well, how awkward to meet you here, dude. You know, where the stalkers are."

ETA: Okay, maybe coach misspelled it on purpose. I hope he did anyway.

Well, I guess HiV can quit with the "Marshall was offered, means we struck out on Collins and AT" bullshite.

Only thing about 2beez, if he were to have an affair, he'd let us know about it on twitter in some way, no surprises from him.
