We really really don't need a DGB 2.0. Hopefully collins is smarter.
Speaking of, are the lovely couple still together in Columbia or has she moved on to this years recruiting class?

On Drew Morgan

Texted to say Auburn has turned up the interest and will be visiting Thursday to discuss visit plans. They want him to visit but nothing has been set as of right now.

Who is that about?

Ole Gus and Tim more worried about "sticking it to Arkansas" than concentrating about their program, they should contact their mentor, Houston and ask him how that worked out at Ole Miss for him...

RD's latest on Frazier

Springdale Har-Ber junior defensive lineman Josh Frazier met with the Arkansas coaching staff for about an hour today. He said he met the entire staff, including strength and conditioning coach Ben Herbert and was given the low down on his philosophy and gave him some tips to use.
He said Coach Bret Bielema is extremely easy to talk to and was very impressed it was with how comfortable he was with the staff. Bragged on defensive line coach Charlie Partridge and was impressed with his style of coaching.
He said his mother, Donna wants him to commit to Arkansas. She obviously felt real good about the visit.
Frazier said he still wants to see how the season plays out and see Arkansas' season before making a decision. .

I hope he doesn't expect us to have a 9-3 season or something

No kidding. I want to know what hr is expecting. It would have been a rebuilding year this season even with Petrino still here. I will be happy as hell with a 7-5 type year if we can swing it. Hopefully he understands this.

Bama is making a hard, hard push. It'll only get tougher as the summer comes along and more people see his tapes.

We'll see very quickly if this staff can be a beast on the recruiting trail if they can fend off all comers and keep him home. Sometimes for a kid with talent and a world of opportunity nothing can be substituted for getting away from home and momma and trying to shine on the biggest stages in world. ie USC, Bama, Miami, ND, Michigan etc.

In no way am I worried about Morgan. Let the kid enjoy being recruited. If I was a 2* prospect in high school and was all the sudden getting recruited by SEC schools then I would live it the hell up and go on every visit I could. Being wanted is a good feeling. He's just living it up. He'll be a Hog.

He told 247 that he was 100% a Hog but is just covering his bases in case the staff cooled on him. I'm sure he's not oblivious to the recent drops.

Fine.

quote:

- Arkansas is trying to get a late visit from Kansas City Rockhurst and Nebraska OL commit Zach Hannon. Won't surprise me if he visits soon, possibly even this next weekend.

- 2:03 UPDATE: Alex Brignoni and Brooks Ellis will visit with Arkansas assistants at 4 p.m. today. Chris Ash is going to see Alex, Randy Shannon will see Brooks.

- 2:23 UPDATE: Austin Allen will be visited by Jim Chaney at around 4.

- 2:33 UPDATE: Josh Frazier just wrapped up a 4-and-a-half-hour unofficial visit at Arkansas. He said Coach Bielema was the first one to come out and greet him, his mother and his mother's friend that joined them on the trip. Frazier thought it was just going to be a short visit but it turned into them touring the facilities and talking about everything from academics to how Josh embodies what they want to do at Arkansas. They met with several assistants and were very impressed with how the coaches treated them as people and not just a recruit that they're trying to impress. Overall it was a good visit, according to Josh, and definitely keeps Arkansas very high on his list of options.

5:10 UPDATE: Alex Brignoni just wrapped up an in-home with DC Chris Ash. Said Ash really made a good impression with him and his parents. Alex can be a hybrid type guy but they're planning on starting him out as a true safety and go from there. He said Ash comes across as a cool guy, has great morals and is very respectful. Alex and his teammates will be taking their official at Arkansas this weekend and Alex said he looks forward to doing some recruiting for the Hogs.

5:45 UPDATE: Brooks Ellis spent an hour and a half talking with Coach Shannon. He told Brooks to have the mindset that he's going to come in and play as a freshman next season. He didn't say definitely that he will play, but he wants him to be ready because there's definitely going to be an opportunity with Arkansas' low numbers at LB. Shannon told him he doesn't want to see Brooks allow the older guys at LB to dictate how he approaches things as a young guy. He thinks Brooks can play any number of LB positions and that they'll find what's best for him once he gets there. He told Brooks that he had Ray Lewis at OLB early on and he was absolutely terrible there, so they moved him to Mike and the rest is history, so it's all about finding what position you're cut out for. Said Shannon is a laid back guy and comes across as a cool person in the living room. Ellis also said he's looking forward to recruiting Altee Tenpenny and others this weekend.

6:06 UPDATE: Arkansas commit Drew Morgan on in-home with WR coach George McDonald: "He made me want to commit all over again." More to come...

Thanks.

Love what Shannon said about Ray Lewis. Little stories like that have to resonate with kids with Lewis all over Sportscenter these days.
