Louisiana has never been too kind to us anyway.

It hasn't but I felt like we were starting to make a little bit of headway in there the last few years. More and more kids were visiting us last week and then you have two guys, Skinner and Blanchard, that actually loved Arkansas before we even contacted them. Winning again plus having a presence in the are was starting to turn things our way I believe.

I think this is the kid that they want if they take another FR TE. We just started recruiting him a week or two ago. Another former Miami commit like Alex Collins. Lots of ground to make up on USF and Mizzou however if they really do like him.

Was this a "you won't fit our system decommit?"

Or just completely done on Skinners part?

Also, if we can get Vandenburg, I will be extremely happy with Henry and Vandenburg at the TE position for the next 4 years. Two 6'6 TE's lined up

My assumption is the LA kids may not have been top tier talent, but Skinner looked pretty good. Who knows. I think Korliss Marshall is better than Blanchard from what the tape I've seen, and if we can get Collins and another highly regarded back it'll have been a good tough call.

Jervenski Johnson, haven't seen any tape on him. Of course at 6-4 and Brandon Mitchell type athleticsm (you'd hope) there might have been a reason to take a project. Coach B seems less intersted in projects than Petrino, hopefully that's because his personality and staff can recruit better athletes to start with.

I'd certainly like for us to be able to pull some kids of LSU's backyard, it's not like they don't have great athletes there every year.

3-star Deondre Skinner has decommitted from Ark. Houston sounds like most likely destination now.

From the sound of that, looks like it wasn't his choice.

The interesting thing about Blanchard and Skinner if you remember is that both tried to commit to us when Petrino was still the head coach and we wouldn't let them. Both weren't able to commit until after Petrino was fired and James decommitted and Morgan dropped us. Then the interim staff took their commits.

John L and Horton would have taken a commit from a one eyed peg leg punter just to keep up appearances.

Eh, Hunter Henry has spoken to the staff numerous times and had Chaney come visit him at the UA all-star game. Kids see this stuff now because of twitter and know that other commits are getting love and not them.

I know this is only twitter but Alex Collins' retweets are insanely promising. He's pretty much only retweeting Hog fans with a UF, Miami or Wisconsin tweet thrown in once in a while. I'm so glad we've got his last visit. I think we get him. He said in his interview with RD that he loves hearing from the fans so if you've got a twitter then let him know we want him. But dont be creepy.

@FifteenStrong @budda03 Miami may be a 10 in the acc but they only a 6 in the sec.

RD reporting that Hunter Henry is still solid following Tim Horton's hiring at Aubarn.

Big surprise to Dale I know.

Doesn't sound good for us on Newby.

I read earlier on HiV that Horton kept recruiting Felix when Nutt wanted to give up on him and that is why/how we landed him on the hill.

Now that surprised me, Horton is a miracle worker, I hope he can do the same for us at Auburn that he did while at Air Force.

Henry told me Alabama has stayed on him and now Tim Horton is getting in touch for Auburn. He said Horton leaving for Auburn doesn't change his solid commitment to the Hogs and he looks forward to being up here on the 18th.

Collins freshly retweeting Ark fans on twitter to start his morning.

I hate to get my hopes up any though, but it's hard not to right now.
