Yes the OL played bad. But we need Jalen to adjust the line as well.

There were times where the commentators were even pointing out that it was 6 vs 5 and Milroe would not adjust and then take a slow drop back. Yes, the Oline was not great. But we have to make adjustments pre-snap!!!

ETA: Bryce had this problem as well! This isn’t just on Jalen. But it’s still an issue.

If neither Milroe nor Brailsford can make these adjustments, then someone needs to signal them in from the sidelines. We did that shite last year. We'd walk up to the line of scrimmage, Jalen would check with the sidelines, we'd make adjustments, and then run the play.

All that is excuses. We have our RT just getting outright whipped by Vandy and SC and wanna blame the QB.

He KNOWS he's has the DE and he still gets beat it's bad it's a killshot on the QB before he can finish his dropback

There's plenty of blame to go around. The OL got whipped all day, but neither Milroe nor Brailsford have shown the ability to shift protections based on what the defense is showing.

A national pundit commented on this a week or so ago. Theory is Milroe isn't adjusting protection after the 15 second mark on the play clock because the head com goes off. Coaches can no longer read the defense to Milroe. Late movement by the defense is blowing up plays because of this. Also reason the ball is being snapped with time on the clock when it needs to run.

The way to solve for this is what we did last year, where Milroe would check with the sidelines before the snap to see if adjustmentrs needed to be made.

Offense wants to go fast. Can't have it both ways.

When they were coming with ears back on the outside the middle was wide open for him to run.

Several times he stepped the wrong way into a defender in the backfield.

I will say on the last offensive drive, we were doing just that. They would bleed the clock, and get it under 15 seconds. Check the scheme then look over to potentially adjust the play/blocking. Before the busted coverage, we had done a decent job of bleeding the clock. Should Bernard gone down at the one or two, yeah but that stuff happens in the NFL too.

On SC drive towards the end, the refs missed the facemask call on Que too. The OL even looked back at the ref and was like oh crap. Offsetting? Oh well, we got the stop when we needed it.

Agree with YStar, this isn't irrelevant but four out of five games we are seeing guys just getting beat straight up. The even worse part is how badly they are getting beat and the lack of effort to even get back into the play sometimes.

The ILO did not have a bad game. The OT's got destroyed. When the USC pass rushers were on the field the OT's badly needed TE help (both of them). When the pass rushers were on the field we needed to be running inside zone to get them biting down rather than speed rushing and quick passing game. When the pass rushers were not on the field the the OC should have been running outside zone and play action passes.

Take what they are giving you.
