Yes I agree Sheridan needs to go . Deboer is really loyal to a fault. He will need to correct that or he will end up without a job

He will be TE coach if Grubb comes here.

Been longer than 2-3 years on the OL unfortunately. IMO this issue has gone back to the end of the Sark era where even in 2020 with the all time great OL we had, we didn’t have the depth behind them ready to go to sustain future success. Not to say we haven’t brought in some ultra elite guys. The Leatherwood / Latham type recruits have been as good as ever. IMO the issue has been identification and development of the 3-4* interior maulers. Guys like Dalcourt have looked soft and lacked the type of technique you see when elite coaches get to develop guys for 3-4 years. I mean when was the last time we needed to get 2-3 yards on 3rd down and you weren’t nervous about getting pushed back or picking up a cheap procedure penalty? 2020?
Agree 100% and will add that BAMA has had 3 OCs and 3 OL coaches since Sark left. Brent Key, who is now HC at Georgia Tech, was BAMA OL coach from 2016-2018. Then Kyle Flood was OL coach 2019-2020 (came and left with Sark).
Since then ………
2021 OC - Bill O’Brien OL- Doug Marrone
2022 OC - Bill O’Brien OL- Eric Wolford
2023 OC- Tommy Reed OL- Eric Wolford
2024 OC Sheridan OL- Kaplovic
So no staff continuity since 2020. Also Joe Pendry was integral in his off the field OL consulting/ analysis/ talent evaluation.
The staff turnover has also affected other successful programs, Clemson and UGA in particular, and cannot be downplayed.

Do the breakdown for DC with DL
2016-2017 DC Jeremy Pruitt DL Karl Dunbar
2018 DC Tosh Lupoi/ Pete Golding DL Craig Kuligowski
2019 DC Golding. DL Brian Baker
2020-2022 DC Golding DL Freddie Roach
2023 DC Steele/ Saban DL Roach
2024 DC Kane Wommack DL Roach
So plenty of turnover there as well. And DL has been lacking since 2020 as well, but not as much as OL. I attribute that to Nick Saban being a defensive minded HC.
ETA: Also went to Roach as DL coach in 2020 known more for his recruiting skills than his development of talent. In his defense, he has recruiting responsibilities beyond DL.
Both lines of scrimmage have left a lot to be desired the last 4 seasons, there is no disputing that. 100% fact.
And none of this accounts for all of the off field analysts who have been employed since 2016, NOT DOING THAT BREAKDOWN, but the list is impressive.

Need to bring back Karl Dunbar

Dunbar probably has one of the best DL jobs in the NFL with the Steelers. Like Stoutland, I think he's where he wants to be.
Bama caught him between jobs as a favor to Saban as a member of his coaching tree.

And we just took a 6-4, 330-pound lineman in the portal. I’m not sure how that works.
If you are referring to Dewberry, he is a guard and looks like a slob.
If you are referring to the complete PROJECT tackle from Ball State, Arkel Anugwom, that guy looks in really, really good shape at 6-6 330 pounds. It appears he can maintain that weight as well.

My understanding and I may be wrong, but I don't think we'll see any significant staff movement until next month. I think we have to wait and see how NFL coaching situation shakes out.
If Ryan Grubb get fired from Seahawks and he wants to come to Alabama. Then I think we'll see him hired as assistant to the HC. I don't think Sheridan isn't going anywhere. I can see Grubb and Sheridan working together to develop game plans which is more ideal because Sheridan needs more help in that area.
I don't think Roach is moving on. If he does it'll be after signing day. Roach has relationships with players so Bama is going to be careful .
But I think kalilivec will be let go, if they can find a better OL coach out there. Someone who focus on fundamental and develop players.

I'm referring to the suggestion by people that we are looking to get smaller on the OL, yet we keep taking huge bodies. Maybe it's not really an issue of size so much as it is ability.
