Peterson is going to be with the Saints probably for only a year. Kamara is the receiving back the Saints haven't had since Sproles left three years ago. Kamara didn't have more than 18 carries in a game in college so I wouldn't worry about him taking many carries away from Ingram.
Also during the Saints '09 and '11 runs they used 3-4 RBs backs and had a top 6 rushing offenses both seasons.

So Drew will get to use him for maybe 2 years while still having to make up for a bottom 1/3 defense?

I'm all for the Saints continuing to triple down on their personel strategy.

The Saints missed out on all the big name pass rushers in FA because most of them were franchise tagged. By the end of free agency they still had a couple million in the salary cap so why not sign AD? They got the no.1 CB in the draft and a ball hawk safety in the 2nd round. I only wish they would've picked a pass rusher instead of Anal zone out of UF in the 3rd.

That's just some hypothetical put out there. Max Unger (starting center)is now projected to be back from injury before the start of the season. He was originally projected to be out for several months. Plus the Saints only have 3 real RBs on the team and of which Ingram is the only proven (AP might be a shell of his former self for all anyone knows).

The reason half the fan base hates Ingram:
1. He played for Bama.
2. The Saints traded back into the 1st round to get him.
