Vols flooded the field and tore down goal post and paraded around the streets like the apacholyspe was coming...after beating #3 ranked team? How embarrassing and bad look for that program. Should we be flattered will this continue for years to come?

I was in T town in 08 the first time we beat Auburn in 6 years and yes there was buzz in the air but afterwards everyone high five maybe had a beer and went on about their day is all I remember and I was 27 at the time.

Bear's last season was 1982. We had an 11 game winning streak going on the Vols.
They won the game 35-28.
Hillbillies, consequently tearing their goal post down that day as well.

Probably because it's the first time they beat Alabama in 97 years

"Act live you've been there, folks"

Personally, I hope any team which beats us has the fans do the same thing. I watched this with the greatest of consolation afterward. H'mmm rush the field, tear down your goalposts throwing them in the river, take a large fine from the SEC home office... all because your beat the 3rd ranked team in Division I.

Congrats.

This is more telling of who Bama is.

It’s also extremely telling of the person you are. Oh no they had some fun. The horror

This is why I ended the post with a similar situation against Auburn in 2008 and nothing of sort even remotely close to happened. AU was not very good but it was the end of the regular season and Bama was not #1 on Saturday and there is a lot of season left to be played.

You can still have some fun without looking like your school had never won a football game in its entire history which is what it appeared like on Saturday. Embarrassing for a once proud D1 program.

The real reason is some of the following:
Alabama is the king of the college football world and we have kicked teams azzes for decades.
Tennessee is a very arrogant state overall.
Alabama will forever have to wear the blame for civil rights stuff in the 60s.
We have had the 2 GOAT coaches at our university.
The one thing ALL other teams can get together on is their hate of Alabama and we will get no sympathy from anyone ever.
Alabama is the only team you will hear people complain about saying, "They're ruining the game", They have been there too long", I never quite hear that about Ohio St, Oklahoma, or any other school.
