I struggled with the wording, and might have said “regress” instead. We were exposed in the Arkansas game; busts in our coverage such as a wheel route and/or swing pass to the rb, as well a tight end crossing route we just couldn’t defend against. Injuries aside, one should improve their individual play over the football year, and we never did. Our linebackers were lost most games, and our secondary was confused too many times. What is the solution here? Yes, getting players back from injury will help, but something deeper is not right. Roll Tide anyway!

Tosh Lupoi/Pete Goulding new d fensive staff who quite honestly were very offensive this year in many games.

We had severe injury issues but the constant busts on 3rd and long and players playing different coverages was simply unacceptable.

For the secondary, more experience and reps. All of our guys had seen limited action prior to this year and they were kinda learning on the fly. I think Surtain has the talent to be a very good corner.

For the front 7, adding some speed to the edge rush and growing a pair of balls. IMO Moses should play OLB almost like a Tim Williams. I thought he took a step back this year and really struggled in coverage. We need more than one guy disrupting things up front.

I don't recall a Mike Shula defense looking as confused as we were Monday night. Poor game plan and poor execution.

I trust CNS to fix this issue.
