TC did not get the memo and sent their JV team thinking it was a jamboree. Shut the program down and fire the corch

County High is a lot of country kids, more into baseball and basketball, and football has had a lot of coaching turnover in the last few years. One coach took the job, then left for the NFL mid summer without ever coaching a game. I think they barely had enough to field a full team this year.

6A Northridge lost to ACA Thursday night. ACA was 4A before private schools got moved to their own division. It’s gonna be a long year for Northridge too.

Doesn't mean anything if you have the right kids. My high school team had 22 players on it. A lot of us played every down of the game.

We beat teams that had way more players than we did and several that were the next classification up as well.

Similarly (but with far different results), we had such a small team that I started on both sides of the ball. We lost every game (a public high school in Tuscaloosa) and got beat by Wayne Davis' Gordo squad, 77-0

Thanks for the clarity - I moved away quite some time ago and remember when County High was good at football (and everything else)

County needs stability from the coaching staff and for the kids to play. The past two years around 20 players that would have been junior and seniors have quit football. They are not a 6A/7A level team but have the numbers to be there.

Hillcrest also has about 5-7 guys that are going to D1 schools, one is an edge rusher that is committed to Bama. Not saying it will get better this year or next but for some reason TCHS doesn't grow, recruit, have, build, or develop the players to compete in the division they are in.

There are a lot of factors but number one is the players that could make them at least competitive are not there.

Tuscaloosa has become a basketball county in high school athletics.

There are a few reasons for this but it mostly comes down to “too many damn schools, so talent is spread too thin to compete in football.”

The city system should go back to the Super Central with multiple campus model if they want to win in football.

The county is sort of screwed in that respect. Too much geography to cover.

My last year we were 7-3 and beat a team in the next classification above us 28-0 on their field.

Missed playoffs by one game due to region losses.

Lost one game in 3OT by a FG and another by 7 points after a fumble inside the 5 yd line.

We were 2A back when AL went up to 4A.
