I think the biggest thing was Moody and HTT were free to roam. The front completely dominated a veteran OL and they were totally unable to reach the 2nd level. If those guys, especially HTT, don't have to shed blocks they are going to wreak havoc.

Part of it could have been that the defense was very basic all night. One gap up front. man under on the back end. But despite that I was very impressed with the discipline and communication. Everyone had the right assignment. Eyes were in the right place. Which should be the case considering 8 of the first 11 that came out are juniors and seniors. Can't wait to see them next week.

Not looking forward to Golding matching wits with Sark. Even with the player advantage Bama has, that's a mismatch as bad as last night's game. Sark is going to expose some things, bank on it. I just don't think Texas can hang with us for 4 quarters, but they will get in a shot or two.

Not to be negative - because I LOVE this team - (but) there is a huge gap between first and second team Defense. Hopefully injuries will be a minimum and substantial leads will give the second team plenty of action/experience. I know every team could say this - AND it is only so noticeable because the first squad is so good. But we need that second team to improve before mid-October

(captain obvious will now pipe down)

Deonte Lawson is exciting. Sure he runs himself out of the play half the time but he hits somebody on the way. I'll take it.

I am! I love the test for our defense because Texas has explosive players at there skill positions so I am sure Sark will try to scheme up ways to get those guys going early.

Pete Golding was blessed with three guys upfront who will get to the quarterback quickly!

Will Anderson, Dallas Turner, Chris Braswell

Is “Brick Golding” an accidental misspell or are you trying to start a nickname
