Need the coaches to tell Tua what to do

If only Tua could have gotten more practice reps this past off-season/season. Instead, Saban had to play charity-case to a guy who had no reason playing QB in the 1st place at Alabama, which took away 40% of Tua’s practice snaps

I suspect the offense will be exactly the same.

The defense needs a total overhaul of scheme and personnel.

I think Bama suffered a bit from the Big 12 defensive syndrome this year. The explosive quick strike offense has the exact same effect on a defense over the course of the game as an ineffective 3 and out offense.

It hides itself against inferior competition and creates a significant liability when playing comparable talent that extends offensive drives and/or simply can't be out talented as easily.

Injuries, new personnel, and a new DC only contributed to the root problem.

Need playcalling and ability to extend drives OR continue to get smaller, faster on D to improve sideline to sideline speed and overall endurance... which becomes a liability in itself against big physical teams.

It's not exactly a catch 22; it is just a situationally based adjustment to balance offensive strategy. Bama has the talent to do both.

More false narrative and excuses.

Bama isn't an SEC champ if that didn't happen as well.

Bama doesn't get an upper hand vs OU if a bad defense isn't forced to plan for 2 QBs.

Another narrative could easily be created that advocates playing Jalen earlier to control clock, test CU's defensive prep for a different playcalling set, and change out with Tua regularly to keep the D off balance.

Big shots are fun, but layups still score points. UA had the advantage in being creative with offensive scheme. They chose a bit of gambling at unnecessary times and a style of play that stuck to tendencies.

It was a great year. But, they ran into a buzzsaw at the end. UA absolutely had the talent to win, but it was not the most complete team in recent years.

Best team won.
