If we had been effective 10%, it would have been a closer game. We have lost the ability to connect on the big play. Ty just seems to throw it praying the other team doesn't catch it - with no real intention of our guy catching it either. Most of his long throws can't be caught by our guy

Right even the threat of Ty and RW burning a defense deep will make a defense respect us enought to back out of the middle channels and open space for us to run the ball and hit them over the middle.

At this point they are forcing us to throw 5 yard stick and flat routes which is why every drive is a slow tedious flow.

They won't get out of it till we burn them a couple (maybe it would only take one?) times when they set up that zero blitz or combo 2/3 blitz..

If we do that then magically we're going to see Ty more confident (he is healed!) because things will open up.

Neither does Ty believe our qb can hit those throws. Hence missing a running back 5 yards from him

That is how that pick six happened against OU.

Or maybe it was the blatant DPI.

Those LSU fans said Peterson got both feet in too. It doesn't matter though becuase the referee will call or miss what they will so the best thing is to not put yourself in that situation in the first place.

The safety is crashing on that route so don't throw it there.

There are multiple options to beating a blitz. They were stated. How many seconds does Ty have before he is killed? How long does it take a receiver to get downfield? If I was a DC I would salivate at Bama throwing deep with this oline.

Hopefully they'll pull it all together and figure it out. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing some deep completions.

Yes and if you cab read and comprehend I addressed them. These DCs are taking away those options because they know Ty's tendencies to go to them.

What they are doing is what any smart DC will do; if they know a QB won't throw fade routes they aren't going to have their team set up to stop the fade. They will accept if you can beat them throwing it but they will shut down what your QB or offense tries to do well.

When they have safeties up playing one on one outside it's a simple 3-step drop back and floated ball or back shoulder throw.

You do not need time. You need good mechanics and accuracy.

Another point....

No one was near him when he threw that INT against UGA.

No one was near him when he threw the inaccurate ball to #5 instead of #17 who beat one-on-one coverage up the seam.

No one was near him when he threw that pass in the ground near the RB or over threw #5 on that 4th down in the flat (ignoring the open RB on the open side).

Is Ty getting pressured? Yeah, just like every QB, however he always holds the ball to make it worse at times and key point; if you aren't an idiot at QB you know when they are bringing more than you can block or a block is missed throw it away.

Every deep play we have a hot route or outlet. Go watch the film and use another excuse.

Ty just doesn't throw them. He locks onto #5.

Well only because you think QBs have to wait till a guy is open to throw the ball.

3-step drop abd back shoulder fade or over the top any time they dare bring their safeties 10 yards of the line of scrimmage.

Hit them with that a couple times and they will back those guys up giving us room to run and throw in the middle.

It's not that complicated

It's a combination of things because if Ty finally does throw them we need RW to actually catch them.

It's also great having Cuevas back as Boz pointed out.

In the end just the threat that they can give up a quick 6... thst fear will back those safeties up and allow us to having winning running plays instead of running into 9-man fronts all day and idiots who can't see it crying about how we can't block when we're basically using 5 to 6 to block against 8 to 9.

I tell you I'm ready for this next game. Hoping it isn't our last for the year. If they could figure it out this team would be unbeatable.
