Top receiver commit Easton Royal was not as diplomatic as some others. Even though Texas A&M isn’t recruiting him, the 2027 five-star receiver from New Orleans (La.) Brother Martin has seen some concerning issues around LSU that came to a head Saturday night.

With Kelly’s departure, maybe that gets fixed – and Royal lands in Baton Rouge – but it was something he definitely has noticed.

“I didn’t make the game as we played (Saturday) but, man, it seems like there is no culture at LSU right now in a state known for it,” Royal said.

Brian Kelly was the most successful head coach LSU has ever hired and yet had the least success in the last quarter century. Saban, Miles, and Orgeron all came to Baton Rouge as middling successes. I'm sort of surprised Kelly didn't do more there. I think the culture stuff ended up being a huge problem.

Which is funny, because I remember all the talking heads laughing it off when he was hired because "winning was its own culture." I suppose that's true to an extent, but some of the same jokers in the podcasts are acknowledging culture issues as a big reason for why BK didn't get much mercy in addition to big game flops.
